Re: New guy to the scooter world

Hello... Your 2-stroke oil injection system has been bypassed. I have seen the oil pump check valve stick slightly open and positive flow oil 24/7. Its not hard to get used replacement pump if that is the case. You will need to run premix now. Its been a few months since looked at the carb mount on ...

Re: Sa50 go past idle

Hey Gauge.... maybe you are losing compression.

PTSG might suggest you have a shiny cylinder?

I suggest that you might take a compression reading?

Best of Luck.

For the price... it would be fun. I just enjoy bringing misfits back to life. My garage is full of 2 smokes. My son is 10-1/2 and lov...

Hey Swim... bet you are freezing your * off up there. It cold here in FL too. Hope your winter build yields good spring results. Yea... it is cheap. Can you say $100. If it is not gone and the guy texts me back, I will have it. I bought my 85 for $100 and brought it back to life... took it down to f...

Nice post mouse... attachment is great. The pilot jet a common issue as it is the smallest, quickest to clog, and overlooked by most noobs. :coolcruise:

Mouse... you are definitely one of my favorite folks here. You are well researched and very thorough - plus your supporting attachments are always helpful. I have had run into two failed pump (failing open) - which I bought cheap replacement pumps from folks here. My beloved gyro is still fine... bu...

Alex... Nice ride. I have the exact same one 2001 S 'RED'. Was cruising about 25 MPH before removing restrictions like you - Exhaust, variator, bigger main jet, air box 2nd hole, and most importantly from my research = SR Oil pump and split throttle cable. The following is a 7 page pinned read about...

Re: smokey exhaust 1986 Spree

This is not uncommon as the oil pump starts to fail. Well not really fail - but the pump is not preventing flow when off. I had this problem with one of my Spree. Really rich after sitting. Pull the oil hose off the nipple (intake side) when off... and see if it keeps flowing. In my case, put a old ...

Sounds like your pilot jet is not clear... Look this up. I have posted some Youtube videos under 'oilburner239' that show my struggles with the pilot circuit on an 85 Aero.

Best of luck.

Re: X wont stay running condition

With the cylinder lubed properly... compression should come up more. Use pre-mix spray in lieu of starting fluid. Do you have the stock box? You might want to put a squirt of 2 cycle oil in the cylinder.... Put in a new NGK plug too... I am just a noob - but the basic have brought back some of the m...

Re: X wont stay running condition

Get ready for the "don't use starting fluid" on your 2 cycle machine. It will wash your cylinder and accelerate the possible seize. Do you have the air box installed. This is critical. Compression appears to be a touch low. The system is balanced based on the factory air box. Too much air....
