Re: 86 spree won't run
Fuel is new, as I've just replaced the petcock. Carb's rebuilt. It started once on brakekleen and smoked like something godawful and quit. I work on mowers for my main bread and butter so I got the basics checked out. How do you know if you're crankcase is full of oil or gas? As much as I've tried s...

86 spree won't run
Hello again. After spending six weeks redoing the cosmetics on my 86 special edition spree, I went to start it today and no go! I rebuilt the carb with a new needle, as per wikispreedia, and replaced the petcock. This bike started and ran real well last year, cept it would die about two blocks from ...

Plastic repair on spree
Hi folks, I mentioned a few days ago I'm fixing up my 86 limited spree. I have a few cracks in the plastic, and was wondering what type of glue or epoxy works best on this stuff. Also wondering what kind of spray paint was popular, brand wise. It is white of course, and I'm not doing the whole thing...

Hello All, I have a retiree friend who wants a little more speed maybe 5-8 mph out of his 02 Yamaha Vino 4 stroke. Any quick tips to increase the takeoff without becoming too raucous?
Thanks, Ted

02 Yamaha Vino
A retiree friend of mine wants to speed up his 02 Vino some. It is 4 stroke. Does anyone have any quick tips on massaging another 5-8 mph out of one of these with perhaps a snappier takeoff?
I know this is a spree forum, but what the heck.

Re: Newbie scooter collection
P. S. Honda Spree: Rode one when I was 15, belonged to this kid named Jimmy Janes. He let me do a loop up and over an overpass in Muskegon, MI. I've been hooked ever since. To me it is not the fastest, quickest, best looking or anything else but I consider it the "Mazda Miata" of the scoot...

Re: Newbie scooter collection
Thanks for the tips. I will pull the carb again and check for blockage between the bi starter and the bowl. I had the carb off once and cleaned it already, but every time you pull it you find new orifices you didn't know about before. This one idles well once running. My friend ( a retired lady of a...

Newbie scooter collection
Here's some shots of my collection. 84 Iowa Spree, 83 Urban express, and my two homemade wooden lawnmower powered creations with a nautical theme. I am still waiting for info on my hard cold starting problem with my Spree. My friend has an 86 with the same phenomena.

1984 Honda Iowa Spree
Hello, I am new to the club here. Just purchased a white 84 iowa spree for $350. Had to buy mirrors and put a new needle in the carb. I am missing the petcock cover. Can someone put me in touch with an address where I can buy one of the repros mentioned around here? Also I work on an 86 for another ...
