more then likely broke off some teeth and will need to clean out the case, im assuming not every gear is going to be broken- get some high heat rtv or order a new gear gasket and open that baby up- there is no magic tool or thing to do without opening it up and checking the teeth

hey guys i heard the front end of the 87 elite with the spring type front end is a bolt on affair for the elite e i have.. i was wondering if i fan use my same handlebars or will need to swap to the matching handle bars.. or is this swap really needed? the front end on this scoot looks flimsy thanks...

I've done it by soldering 18 gauge shielded signal cable worked fine. I think as long as you use the same gauge or larger it will be fine as all the sensor does is change resistance. the 88-93 elite used a se50/af05 just like the aero, in 94 they changed it to the af16... i told ya if you got the spring style front end its not an sb50, if it looks like spree it is other wise you have the se50/af05
