Re: Duosport's Honda Spree repair thread.
You kicked some butt, way to go :-) Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2 Thanks. I am afraid to say it is running good. Knock on wood. I hate to quote myself but in this case it is neccessary. My Spree seemed to be running nice then all of a sudden it crapped out on me as I slowed down comin...

Re: Duosport's Elite 50 repair thread.
I think it is totally sorted out now. Today here in Charlotte it is beautiful. 70 degrees and sunny, no wind. I have been riding around all afternoon. I have had several 50cc scooters before and this one is really fast. My speedo is broken but when riding on a road with a lot of traffic that has a p...

Re: Duosport's Elite 50 repair thread.
So I looket at the petcock and saw that it looked exactly the same as that on the Spree. I had an extra old petcock from a Spree so I tested it and the vacuum seemed to be working fine on it so I replace the bad one with this one. Put it all back together and took it for a spin and it rode better th...

Re: 00' elite electric start issues
There is a bushing in the case that the starter pinion pivots on. This bushing and the case hold the pinion in place so removing the cover allows the gear to fall out. The bushing in the case can become worn uneven and that would allow the pinion to shift and could bind on the gear. This was the cas...

I looked but did not see any evidence of fuel coming down the vacuum line.

Re: 00' elite kickstart question
On the "half moon" gear, on the outside of the case, there is a circlip that fits in a goove on the shaft. This clip holds it in place.
You can see the clip on this scematic. Part number 18

Re: Duosport's Elite 50 repair thread.
So now I have pulled the carburetor. When I did this gas came out non stop from the line. So I guess the pet * or sensor or something is failing.

Re: Duosport's Elite 50 repair thread.
OK de-restricted exhaust installed. Tab knocked out of the airbox and still the scooter is "chugging" at medium to high throttle. My jet is a #78 So basically my scooter is changed from an "RS" to an "S". So what could be the issue?

Re: NewB to scoots, but not to life. Compression, no start
So it ran OK with the original carb short of the idle speed? If it ran even some what then it kind of is telling me your problem lies in your new carb. You ordered a new carb right? You did not say it was new (it could be a used carb). What carb did you aquire?

Now I have ground out the remaining restriction in the exhaust. I will install it tomorrow and do a test run.

Re: Duosport's Elite 50 repair thread.
I removed the restriction in the airbox. Maybe it reduced the chugging a bit. It seems to me the chugging happens at higher throttle now. Not sure. The last restriction I have is the little bit of restriction in the exhaust. I gather once I clean that up it should be like an "S" model stoc...
