Re: Spree sluggish at take off

My scooter hits 31mph on the speedo. If I had a blocked exhaust would I not have a poor performing engine in general?

Re: Spree sluggish at take off

Do you think that is all that it is? I think it is more sluggish at take over now than it was two weeks ago. Could be my imagination though.

Spree sluggish at take off

I think my Spree is becoming more sluggish at take off. Once it gets to 10mph it really takes off. What are the possible issues? Could be belt I suppose but I do not hear the engine reving up as if the belt is slipping.

Re: high idle /run away on aero 50

How about a photo of that bystarter needle assembly? I am wondering if it is not seating properly after warm up.

Re: Brand New $499

The chinese engines are easy enough to fix. Parts break more often but then the parts are easy to get and are cheap. Its not all bad.

Re: Brand New $499

I do not think there are any $499 listings anymore. Anyway when you look at the actual costs of those deals they have extra fees tacked on and then the shipping and when you are done with your $499 it ends up being $899

Just saying.

Re: Just picked up a Spree

I think the thing I like the most about the Spree is how easy it is to get to everthing. I can remove the rear rack and the side panels in about 2 minutes. I can actually get a screw driver at the rear screw on the bystarter. A good amount of room around the carburetor.

Re: Spree Carb

The pilot jet must be cleaned properly to idle. Who did you clean the carburetor? One must run a wire of some sort in the pilot jet and really clean it out.

If you are going to bypass the oil injector system then you must remove the oil pump and plug the opening.

Re: 1987 SE50 Replacement rings : identical or different?

I see on the parts list the ring set for the SE50 is labeled (Nippon) for Japan. Is it possible there are other markings on the rings that you have not seen besides the "N"? I needed a magnifying glass to see my marks.

Re: 1987 SE50 Replacement rings : identical or different?

I would say do not go by the old rings on the piston now. They sound like someone put the wrong rings in. There really is an upper and lower. They should be labeled T1 and T2 and installed with the marks facing up.

Re: high idle /run away on aero 50

well got a filter on it and put a rubber band and some sealant on the bystarter which helped alot but its not helping much really cause when i go over like 1/4 throttle the dang thing shoots a ton of fuel out the front of the carb which either kills it or make it rev up How about take your bystarte...

Re: Tires Not sitting properly???

It happens. Your tire is not sitting proper on the rim. Try letting the air out and hit the side of the tire with a rubber mallet while you inflate the tire. If you work at it you can get it to set properly. Even putting the tires on the scooter and riding it can set them. Good luck keep working at ...

Re: Duosport's Honda Spree repair thread.

Glad and embarrassed to say I found my problem with the Spree. It was out of gas. I forgot after the last carb cleaning I had drained the tank and had only refilled it with a little gas. Opps! Anyway my gas gauge is stuck on full so that is my lame excuse. :)
