Kickstart. The kickstart mechanism correctly turning the engine clockwise. I have not disassembled the motor at all since it last ran correctly.
The only change is plugging it into 85 wiring loom and electrics.

86 spree is running backwards
I am completely baffled. It was running just fine in the right direction when I pulled it off. It starts and idles fine but it is running backwards. The fan intake is blowing air out not pulling it in. The only thing that is changed is that the frame and wiring is for my 85 that I pulled off to repa...

I can't find the length of wire! Will it reach the handlebar with any length to spare?

LOL! It's been a functioning train wreck for 7 months since I found it sitting 15 years in a shed.

Re: Spree to Stand-up Build
Newest tinkering. I had a expansion chamber for a 49cc pkt bike laying around so I decided to weld it on and see what it did to the FrankenSpree. It helped takeoff and overall throttle response. Did nothing to top speed but I'll take throttle response over top speed on the Spree any day! Here's a pi...

Re: Carburation Issues 1986 Spree
Are you aware that Sprees are speed limited because they are single speeds re they don't have variable gearing. You'll be lucky to get a Spree to go 27mph downhill. This is from experience with my 2 Sprees.

Re: mpg help
Do this test for yourself. Get a hand crank generator with usb port. Turn crank with nothing attached. Note resistance. While cranking, plug in a dead cell phone connected to it's usb charger. Note resistance. The resistance will be quite a bit more than with nothing plugged in, and we're only talki...

Re: mpg help
Link. My actual experience says otherwise. With idle adjusted for no lights, when headlight plugged on the idle drops down then dies. Tell me that the draw from the generator isn't causing the generator to slow down and kill the engine. Common sense says add gas to compensate and down goes gas milea...

Re: mpg help
While building my FrankenSpree, I found that the running lights have a HUGE effect on mpg on these little scooters. I took all the running lights off and my mpg went from 60mpg to 90mpg . Look at replacing all of your running lights with led lights that draw a fraction of the current from the genera...

3D printers
Does anyone here have a 3D printer yet? It would be great to be able to make parts with it!
