Re: 86 Honda Spree Belt Keeps Breaking...
Just in addition - My belt started acting funny then shredded. I pulled the pulleys off and they look fine but I did find this little telltale mark behind the drive pulley: 13693596458590.jpg This tells me the little washer behind the drive pulley is worn thin and letting the inner pulley touch the ...

Re: 2 strokes are coming back?!
So you have to turbo charge to get a 4t to match normally aspirated 2t. Sounds like 2t is still the better power unit!

Re: 2 strokes are coming back?!
We can only hope they do. I've read that the big mfgrs have been able to pass epa smog tests with fuel injected 2 strokes for a few years now. *, without injection they were able to pass smog back in the great 80's! Granted it cost and weighed a bit more with the catalytic converters but they could ...

Re: Spree wide belt mod problem
I have diassembled the clutch from the pulleys, but seperateing the pulleys from each other is what needs to be done to get to the pins. I was told to use a screwdriver but I'm not comfortable doing that.

Re: Spree wide belt mod problem
I'm gonna try this mod again after I disassemble the driven pulley and lube the slider pins. Any advice on disassembling the driven pulley? I had a suggestion to pry off with screwdriver but I'm hesitant to do that.
Anyone else?

Spree driven pulley lubrication
Does lubing the driven pulley bearings also share the lube with the ramps? My belt was wearing unusually fast so I pulled the clutch pulley and lubed the bearings. I couldn't see a way to lube the ramp movement to let them seperate smoothly. After lubing, I worked the ramps back and forth to try and...

Re: Spree oil pump disabling
There is nothing wrong with minimizing complexity. Never said it has a high failure rate, just taking a variable out of the picture.
I'm more than happy to explain it to you. I'll even draw you a picture! But I can't understand it for you. (shamelessly stolen from swflcarl!)
