I'll ask again! Was it working ok before you took it apart?Unscrew thre the throttle cable off the carb again and make sure it is all assembled correctly and you put it back down in properly.Loo at a parts diagram or a service manual to see if your not sure.Joe

You and I are having the same problem.I have been told the reeds will do this, but should do it under load or just sitting on the center stand and hard to start.I was told I may just be running too lean.Get the bike to stall and then pull the plug and see how it looks.Mine looked white indicating le...

I mean is it installed properly? Was it working ok before you took it apart? You have the long groove on the slide towards the back of the carb when you slid it down in?If not you will have lots of slack. Also, the float will have nothing to do with the throttle tension.

Why do you say that?I tested it when the bike was running by trying to blow air thru the small air hole going to the bystarter chamber and it was closed off.I also test it on the bench and when cold I could blow air thru it and after applying voltage I blew air in the hole and it slowly closed off.A...

Reed Valves Revisited

Ok-I pulled my reed valve again to look for a gap in them. There is a gap all the way around the one.So small you can almost not see it.I also looked at it with a magnifying glass. The other has a even smaller gap more so in the center area of it.Now the one with the bigger gap feels weaker and easier...

I took the cap off about a week ago because I thought it may be a problem. The little clip is in it.I wanted to clip a small piece of the plug wire off to make sure I had a good connection to the cap.But when I tried ohming the coil out I got no reading.I took the cap on and off acouple of times and ...

Thanks for the help-Ok I did flip the reeds, but the gap was worse so I put them back and tried to get the one as flat as possible and no change. Will a gap only cause problems after it warms up?This bike is like clockwork, it will run and ride great for a few minutes after a cold start then the bogg...

tru72-Now will it die under load just when hot or will it do it when cold too.Mine will run great under load for a few minutes then it starts to bog out.I did pull the reeds and one had a very minute gap and I was able to make it better, but that did not change anything. You would think it would do i...

Coil swap

Will a coil from a Elite 80cc work on my Aero 50?Aslo, I see little 2 stroke Honda Motorcycles use ones that look like the scooter ones.Would they work also as long as the primary coil resistance is the same?thanks

I am assuming you checked the coil resistance?Something you might want to check is unscrew the resistor cap off of the plug wire and make sure the resistor cap is not faulty or even cut off a half inch of the coil wire and put cap back on.I just took a resistor cap off my 85' Aero and either I did i...
