Re: Ruined big bore kit I think

thanks for all the input. So should I be running premix in every tank of gas?I was told to add maybe a 1/4 ounce of oil to my first tank. Also, would you say a 90 jet would be large enough?I was told after the fact to go 2 sizes over the original which was a #80.I thought the #85 would have been enough.

Re: Ruined big bore kit I think

Stock carb with #85 jet.Stock air box.Stock gears, not sure what the ratio is?The rings are not stuck.I thought I had done enough research on this site but I guess not. These 2 strokes are alot more touchy than a 4 stroke and I guess I am not the first person to do this. The thing is how can you deter...

Re: Weak, low power, and bog at full throttle

I was going crazy trying to figure out why my 85 Aero 50 was "bogging down", but idled fine.Checked everthing I could think of at the time at least twice.I then decided to replace the reeds and that fixed it.I thought I was wasting my money on them, but was wrong.I had a series of posts on...

Re: Idles but loses power and dies when I ride it

My Aero did the same thing when I started it.Ran good for a few minutes then bogged out. After weeks of frustration and countless trouble shooting I put new reed valves in and that solved the problem.

Honing cylinders

I wanted to hone the cylinders on my scooter, but not sure what people are using?I have a small hone designed for car brake calipers but it will not work since the stones are small and get caught in the intake and exhaust ports. The larger auto hones look like they will not be small enough to go into ...

Hard starting when cold

When I got my NB50 it started easily, but it had no power after a few minutes. After many weeks of frustration such as numerous carb cleanings and elcetrical checks I replaced the reed valve and it solved that problem. Now the bike is hard to start after replacing the reeds. Not sure what could have ca...

I just talked to someone that had an Aero 50 with no power under load and they found their gaskets to beleaking around the reed valve assy. by spraying starter fluid around it while running. So, it pays to check this area out when loosing power.
