Re: MLM is still making Spree pipes!
It sounds like the faulty ignition/cdi I read about on this forum, "max speed doesn't change downhill".

Re: 1986 honda spree
You might have fouled the plug - pull it, replace the cap, and hold it to your exhaust pipe while turning over. If the red kill switch is in middle position you ought to have a nice spark. Then again you might have killed the battery trying to start! Or, like me, corroded the battery box to heck res...

Re: 84 spree bbk - goin' GROOVY
I think my kit came without those instructions, or I misplaced them (definite possibility!) I was loathe to drill my air box top, and have opted to dremel a 2 little soda bottle into a hackable intake mod. My carb tube is attached to what I've jokingly referred to as a "velocity stack". I ...

Re: install 85 motor into 87 spree frame?
The heads are interchangeable as I understand it. How is your battery doing? What's a pulsar in this context, a spark plug? Did you inspect the engine prior to swapping? I'm a noob but I think these questions will be incoming - along with "What's the compression at WOT?" Was your carb full...

Re: 84 spree bbk - goin' GROOVY
Oh thank goodness. I hadn't cracked it open (anxiety is a - and I have my second son due any day now) so I'm glad to hear it! Unfortunately my jet kit was not right for my stock carb. Rich as the * unless I wedge something into my air box cover, but then it comes alive. Blew my tube, too. SOON I SHA...

Re: 84 spree bbk - goin' GROOVY
Well! Off roading months ago, which splashed battery acid around leading to frayed wiring, also caused my voltage regulator to fall off. Just fell off the other day... I will Jerry rig something and possibly toss on my larger reed block after down jetting some. If anyone sees this and has experience...

What year spree, and was it the 48mm bbk from Taz? I ought to solder-squish test... I dremeled stock head and only used one gasket! *gulp*

Re: bought my first scooter.... and im feeling buyers remors
Bbk alone with Taz's jet and stock carb/gears/air box rips thirty plus easy (running very lean, hot, and seizing my bore). The bbk and gears is about $200 and a larger intake block was $25. I don't know what a properly jetted too speed within heat range will be though. Just a little excited!

Re: MLM is still making Spree pipes!
Woah this? https://www.treatland.tv/MLM-honda-spree-people-s-sidebleed-pipe-p/mlm-spree-pipe-381.htm Fits the biggest bbk available by Tazland, scalable from stock? I am guessing your shipment is en route right now leading to them not having stock... My individual setup is 48mm bbk with stock carb a...

Has anyone else seen Batteries Not Included? The original fabricated headlamp replacement reminds me a lot of it and is too d*** cute!

Re: Spree big bore kit install questions.
Yours has an adjustable idle jet though, right? With my stock carb I have has my motor die while idling with a slightly propped air box lid (so scientific!)... I know I need to adjust my air screw but haven't taken the time yet. Stock carb "mileage may vary" with bbk against those with bur...

See also: suck on the vacuum line oh so gently, those carbs need gas in order to function! If you have a car battery available good show. Test compression, observe spark (same time why not? Hold throttle open and click it over with the starter a few turns - watch the spark then note psi). Do the sta...
