carb & manifold upgrade for af05e?

Just wondering if anyone could recommend a carb and manifold combo that works and a supplier. I have a UK Honda Vision and I'm looking for a 19mm carb to get working on a standard bike which has had an exhaust can upgrade (no exhaust restriction). If I'm getting a carb then it makes sense to get a b...

Re: Rebuild carb on AF05 OR Upgrade?

Sorry for late reply. It was from an individual in Italy. Try a worldwide ebay search there seems to be some gems over in Italy as they love their mini machines over there. The guy only had two pipes and they both sold. I had to drill/widen the holes on the hanger bracket slightly but that was just ...

Re: Rebuild carb on AF05 OR Upgrade?

Thanks for the advice. Any idea how big a main jet you can get away with on the standard carb before the engine floods? The pipe was bought from Italy from the same guy who sold one to Nobbylad (another UK Vison owner on this forum). Nobbylad got an expansion pipe and I went for the chromed good loo...

Re: Rebuild carb on AF05 OR Upgrade?

Many thanks for the response. I have an aftermarket pipe with stock cylinder but I'm thinking of getting a big bore kit so I guess the 19mm is the one to go for assuming it's ok with just the aftermarket exhaust? I think this may be the one: http://www.racing-planet.co.uk/carburetor-arreche-kymco-ho...

Rebuild carb on AF05 OR Upgrade?

My recently recommissioned NE50 (UK Vision) is looking like it needs a new needle jet as it's dumping the fuel in the bowl on to the road. I can see a miniscule amount of wear on the needle/float jet and it's probably a good idea to replace it. It seems to be recommended that the float gets replaced...

Re: spree oil pump leaking

This could be the clear oil line hardening with age and losing the seal due to it's loss of plasticity. I'd recommend replacing the line.

Re: Cannot bleed oil pump

Ok I've primed both oil lines before attaching and have already had the oil tank off and checked the strainer/filter...it was very clean as I had hoped for a machine with just one thousand miles on. Not much more to do before I get her re-started. I' m looking forward to hearing how my Italian Proma...

Re: Cannot bleed oil pump

Many thanks. I have the non adjustable af05 pump and the photo and explanation are really useful. I always worry about air bubbles in the line and replacing the original clear oil lines with black ones hasn't helped. Does running pre mix and letting the pump sort itself out really get rid of air bub...

Cannot bleed oil pump

I have a Vision ne50 (af05 engine) and have tried bleeding the oil pump. I've followed the handbook procedure (for the Aero) but cannot push any oil through the pump to prime and bleed it. I used a syringe to try and push it through then tried to suck through from the pump outlet but nothing. It can...

Re: Replacement oil hose - -Question

Thanks. I get blank looks from the motorcycle dealers here as everything is in black or the wrong size. I need 3mm internal for the oil. I will try some of the local chandlers & boat service units, I think they deal with more two strokes than bike dealers these days.

Replacement oil hose - -Question

I'm looking to replace my oil pump hoses and would ideally like them to be clear so I can check that they have been bled correctly and there is no air lock. What do you guys use? The best fit I have in my garage is PVC aquarium hose. PVC appears to ok to use with oil but shouldn't be used at tempera...

Roller Weight Guide

Found this useful table showing what standard weights are for Honda and other makes. Hope it helps someone. Vision Prima Serie would be the early Vision NE50.

Re: UK Honda Vision NE50MF Recommission

Here are some lovely shots of the rust which needed to be put right: I never realised you had to completely dis-assemble the front end just to get the mudguard off :*: http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/ae80/wightfishing/Honda%20Vision%20NE50MF%201985/DSCF3487.jpg The front wheel complete with cobwe...
