So can I still get a new float and needle from my local Honda dealer or is it difficult because of the scooter's age? If they are available, how difficult to install? I am pretty much a moron behind a wrench but willing to try if not insanely difficult...

I would be happy with my scoot but it always seems to have a problem... although the problem is probably that it sat for 20 years and after $325 in repairs my mechanic still didn't have it tip top. Sadly the Honda dealer around here won't work on it because it is too old... regardless, when it is ru...

Thank you for all your words. Have to admit I am not the most mechanically inclined and this is all new for me. Attached are a couple of photos so people can actually see what I am talking about as I am sure I am not wording things to well: http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee110/2fast4u_013/scootc...

Is it at all normal for gas to come out of the overflow after shutting the bike down? Am I needlessly worrying? Can I just reattach this hose to the overflow and forget about it or am I in trouble???

Does the oil tube come in from the left of the carb? There is a clear plastic tube coming in from the left already which I believe might be the oil. I've put about 6 or 7 hours on the scoot since it's been running. Can I go that long without oil going to the engine without seizing?

Thank you, Hondaman. Okay, did a little poking around and this is what I have come up with... 1) After riding, when I kill the engine, gas comes out of what I think is the overflow (rightside of carb, back, tiny pipe facing downward). Proabably enough gas to fill a shotglass or two. 2) I think this ...

leaking fuel...

took my spree out for a decent ride today, about 10 miles full throttle for a good amount of the trip. scoot goes about 25MPH. got home and smelled gas. checked and it was dripping rather rapidly out of a part behind what i believe to be the carb. on a whim, i decided to start the scoot again and tu...

Nice flame job! I tried to do that with mine, using custom adhesive-vinyl flames I made... they came out great, but when I went to put them on, the scoot had way too many curves and they creased and got airbubbles... totally bummed. After scrapping the whole idea I had to repaint the panels as well ...

Biggest problem on such a trip would probably be finding parts and good repair if ya break down somewhere. Not a trip I would risk unless ya can afford to be stranded somewhere indefinately. Pretty cool idea though... once while camping on the bay in Mass. I met a couple who were jetskiing up the co...

Clocklaw- could you please post a pic of what it looks like when you lift the seat on your scoot? I am trying to fashion my own saddlebags for my Spree using messenger bags, but when you lift the seat the gas and oil caps are there and a few others things. It would just give me some perspective on w...

I thought I was ready to drill muffler and then I noticed that there is a downward curve to the small pipe I'd be inserting the drill bit into. Was wondering if this will affect anything as my drilled holes through the baffles would not be straight but an upward line. Any thoughts?
