Re: aero dies when turning
yea if its that quick it probably is electrical.... can you check the spark when its tilted? (do a quick starter check with the plug tip touching the block/ground), also does the headlight dim when its tilted? might be a grounding out of something, or the coil is doing something funky http://www.mot...

Re: aero dies when turning
do you have clear/ see through fuel lines? could help in diagnostics
it could be gunk blocking your petcock inside the tank ?
I've had cases where the gas cap was too sealed and created a vacuum in the tank and wouldn't drain well.
I'm just spit balling here
how far is "leaning" btw

Re: Cylinder repair
as a side note, guys that do this kind of thing are always in short supply, kinda sucks that this kind of work is replaceable parts so in the future there will be very few people that have this kind of knowledge and ability to keep our archaic toys alive

Re: Cylinder repair
i would ask for a quote for such a thing, in my experience buying a new jug and piston is usually cheaper... *edit* but from the site it looks to be quite reasonable, you should let us know if you get it done!! if you can find replacements that is. Did you figure out what was causing the soft seize?...

Re: Dio exhausts from other countries
be wary of those, i think those are for 4stroke (modern) dio's (af56/63)
also look out for vertical engine dios as well (af34/35)
on webike look on this page for chambers
http://japan.webike.net/ps/#!p.m=17&p.c=1027&p.sk=1
they don't really have a great selection for af16/18

Re: Parts for a 1985 Aero 50
i usually just use electrical tape to restrict the intake (usually on the aftermarket filter) if i don't have the proper jets to get the jetting right there are a couple folks on this forum that still have parts for that engine (even new ones like the malossi big bore kit) the jets are fairly standa...
