Thanks for all of the advice. I know the small hole in the carb you are referring to and it is open and clean. The battery is new also. I can't even get the machine to start using ether (a no-no). It turns over great but won't start - very frustrating!!!!

I did go cheap aftermarket bystarter - probably Japanese. Could this be the problem? Should I have spent the extra money for OEM?

My bad - Page 4-6 refers to the Air Screw and the Throttle Stop Screw. I'm assuming the first controls air and second controls fuel. When both are dialed in correct, it run great.....correct. Is the very small orifice in the bottom of the bowl? Looks like it has a very small brass insert in it.

Thanks - don't know why Honda calls it an auto bystarter when it's just the choke!!! Smart advice about a spray bottle with gas/oil mix. On the 86, it's all original. On the 85, I put on a new top end, fuel valve, ignition coil, and CDI so I'm guessing it has to be the choke in both. Looking on eBay...
