Re: Does anyone know who this is with all these mopeds?

I have not seen the thread yet, but my first instinct is to say "martynkim" may be the guy. I'll take a look and advise later. ... :urban: Edit:I went to the thread and there is no clue to who this person is. martynkim is probably wrong as he was a member two years before this thread was ...

Does anyone know who this is with all these mopeds?

Hi everyone :hi: So I browsing through a page and came across this discussion "My First Spree Swap (Aero NH125)", I was reading the page when I came across the part about a guy with 160 Mopeds which are mainly Honda's, he's located in Portland, OR. I have no idea who he is or have any cont...

Re: 1986 Honda Spree Starter Motor NOT STOPPING EVEN OFF?!?!

there are 2 things in here, not really clear. 1- If starter motor still running, it must forcing engine cranking as well, you didn't say anything about it or just starter motor running itself without engaging cranking, which is impossible. 2- battery power supplies to starter motor by ignition key ...

Re: 1986 Honda Spree Starter Motor NOT STOPPING EVEN OFF?!?!

Greetings: I believe your starter relay is sticking. The relay has a Low Amperage circuit connected through the ignition, brake interlock, and starter button. The High Amps circuit runs straight from the battery to the starter motor. When the relay sticks, the switches have no effect. Now this comm...

Re: 1986 Honda Spree Starter Motor NOT STOPPING EVEN OFF?!?!

Yes, if you upgrade the battery it's a good idea to use a new automotive grade 30/40 amp relay No it's a not voltage problem, I've just been using a 12v battery just like all sprees use. Man I just don't know with this one, I'm going to check next week on the relay and starter motor, hoping it's ju...

Re: 1986 Honda Spree Starter Motor NOT STOPPING EVEN OFF?!?!

You are absolutely right, and i agree with you totally Wheelman. Maybe, hi amps battery might have been used in this scooter. No absolutely not! I used a standard 12v Battery, and have been using the same brand 12v battery in all my bikes!! Not a voltage problem here guys, somethings just not worki...

Re: Honda Express coil access

Hey John, I own a few Honda Express's and recently tore a few down for restoring. I found the BEST way to remove the coil is to un screw the part that plugs into the spark plug then take the seat off and disconnect all those wires connected to it. Then it should pull right out no problem! I know thi...

Please bear with me for more investigat ion on this issue. Do you remember, did that needle jet c o me with that carb as a set originally? I know your scooter now has amazingly strong power compare d to before, but you still hav e a couple more steps to do to max it out. I would run it as a lit tle...

Re: HURRAY!!! IT WORKS!!! 1984 Honda Spree Trouble THANK YOU

Okay new piston and rings... Did you check the compression after the new rings? What was the condition of the cylinder walls? Did you oil everything when you assembled it? Did you deglace "Hone" the cylinder before you installed the new piston and rings? I wonder if the rings aren't reall...

Re: PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME! 1984 Honda Spree Trouble

Was your bike running fine last time you used it or have you just picked it up from somewhere? I purchased it back in September, it had real low compression at barely 30psi!!!! I pulled the engine and put a new piston rings kit in from chopchop123 on eBay for $23. It started right up when I put all...

Re: PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME! 1984 Honda Spree Trouble

Make sure the small orifice in the float bowl that feeds the idle circuit is fully clear, might be partially blocked so its fine under no load but bogs with load. Trying what meloshamless mentioned will help diagnose that as the cause of your issue. Something else to check is the gasket on the cove...
