90/90 tire vs. 3.00-10 tire. Stock elite wheels
Questions on how many people have switched their stock elites to a 90/90, I know they are about a half inch wider. Curious if the scooter will handle slightly better with the wider tire? Will the 90/90 clear the stock shock, and the center stand fine? Thanks!

Re: '00 Elite SR Build
Ya SSS has the rings for like $33 so I'll just get them from him, thanks though. I had it all lubed up with 2 stroke oil, and pinched them down one at a time with my left hand, then slide the cylinder on with my right hand. I got the first ring in, started on the second and I think the first ring go...

Re: '00 Elite SR Build
Tried installing the Malossi Cast today, snapped one of the rings when trying to slide it on, must be really brittle, it seemed to perfect in it's spot, lined up with the pin. Have to order a set of rings from SSS.

Re: '00 Elite SR Build
I might have to look into adding a small copper washer of some sort.

Re: '00 Elite SR Build
Ya I'll check the head. Seems to be spitting out between spark plug and CHT copper washer. Needless to say that was a few hundred miles worth.
Malossi Cast in comparison to stock cylinder and piston.
Stock cylinder still in excellent shape, great cross hatch pattern, no scars.

Re: '00 Elite SR Build
Yup, I did remove the original crush washer. Here is what I believe the problem is, CHT copper washer is not a perfectly circle hole, causing a leak.

Re: '00 Elite SR Build
Removed cylinder head, looks to have a leak where the spark plug was? I was running a CHT gauge, and had the copper washer between the cylinder head and the spark plug. The copper washer isn't a perfect circle and has a gap, this could be where it's leaking? Possibly leading to my high temperature r...

'00 Elite SR Build
Starting my build on my 2000 Elite SR, purchased last summer with 600 miles on it, now has 1900 miles on it. Stock 50cc just wasn't enough power. Whenever the moped is being rode it's WOT 90% of the time I'm on it, on back roads. Purchased a Malossi Cast big bore last fall, hoping for some decent po...

Going to be doing about the same build, using the Malossi cast this spring. Any reports back on how things are going a few months later?

Re: Malossi Cast BBK exhaust opinions
2 questions, any recommendation on a 21mm vs 24 mm carb, which would perform better with the mild cast bore? I see your website has the 24mm in a kit with intake for $270ish. Also, recommendations on where to pick up a new PG long if I can't find a used one? All the help from anyone is greatly appre...

Re: Malossi Cast BBK exhaust opinions
Thanks for the replies guys, gearhart, that would be nest identical with what I'd like to do, I've got the cast kit and the tecnigas pipe already, wasn't sure if I should swap it out for a pg long or not. How is that Polini carb? Easily tuneable with that setup? What main jet are you running? Also, ...
