If the resistors are missing or not working, all the current is dumped through the lights causing them to blow/ b...

Re: Honda Elite SA50PV has no power
Cool, I had a duff battery on my melody deluxe 2 and it wouldn't start on the electric starter. Don't do what I did and check for a spark without cleaning the top of the cylinder head first. Knocked a load of rust from the cowl down the plug hole and into the bore. Now it needs a full engine...

Re: Honda Elite SA50PV has no power
Hi! Have you sorted the battery and is it holding charge? Also, try getting hold of an airbox and filter and seeing how it runs then (there's probably someone selling one on the 'for sale' board) as Honda set it up to run that way. It may be likely that a previous owner has made mods which could be ...

Re: Hard starting/ Idling problem
2nd that on the jet file. Right tool for the right job and all that. If you absolutely must use a wire, use a copper one as it's a soft metal and less likely to cause any damage. Nylon bristles, like out of a toothbrush, are safer still but may not be stiff enough to nudge any blockages out of the w...

Re: Hard starting/ Idling problem
Maybe the carb float is stuck open or the float needle is worn and not sealing properly. This would cause fuel to flood the carb. Although, saying that, carbs usually have an overflow pipe to drain excess fuel on to the ground and keep it out of the engine, unless that's blocked or connected up wron...

Re: Plug Chp Test. Looking for comments.
Looks like the good plug in my Haynes manual.
Maybe give it another look over after some more miles just to be sure.A brown, tan or grey firing end indicates that the engine is in good condition and that the plug type is correct

Re: Anyone from UK here?
nice, seen that one on ebay.
Don't think I've ever seen one with rack, basket and mats.
Reckon you should be able to get both running.

Re: Anyone from UK here?
Hey Bobspeed, i'm also from the UK so in the Melody club - though they're both in pieces.
Joined the board to get me * in gear and make some progress.
Defo agree about Vespas and Lambrettas, find them a bit commonplace, though my deluxe 2 has been mistaken for a vespa on occasion.
