Re: Gyro - general thread
Thank you, it was the paint shop's idea and I thought it was spot on. Good call. Like the basket too. Never did get my 2d Gyro (red) working, but my 1st (blue) runs like a top. Although my parking brake gears (the ones that keep it upright) have gotten loose. Need to tighten something up, or someth...

Re: 1985 Honda Gyro Mixture and Idle screw adjustment
Try this. Who knows if the carb will match up, but I'll be the guinea pig. http://www.amazon.com/HONDA-CARBURETOR-TG50M-WHEEL-CARBY/dp/B00K87SBSI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1444738824&sr=8-2&keywords=honda+gyro+carburetor I'm pretty sure that won't fit my 1984, but I did order a bystarter f...

Re: 1985 Honda Gyro Mixture and Idle screw adjustment
Sorry to hear that didn't work for you. I had high hopes.
Here's hoping the new carb will.
I'm going to replace my bystarter for that price. I tested it, but not precisely.
I'm hoping one fits. They don't specifically say Gyro.

Re: 1985 Honda Gyro Mixture and Idle screw adjustment
So, motormike, since I see that you're in Nashville, are you going to the Kid Rock fish fry tonight? Actually, I don't care for the guy anymore, but I only brought it up because a friend of mine is on tour with him playing saxophone. Johnny "Showtime" Evans. Real nice guy, great sax player...

Re: 1985 Honda Gyro Mixture and Idle screw adjustment
As far as the "dying after 30 seconds", I found that if I give enough gas to keep it running for just a few moments, it stays running. Same thing happens with mine, too. As long as I stay and feather the throttle, stays running. I am sure this is related to the bystarter and it's "re...

Yeah, I should have been clear that that was for the NN per manual.motormike wrote:...as per the Honda TG50M service manual...motormike wrote:Initial setting for the Air screw is 2 & 1/4 turns out.

Re: 1985 Honda Gyro Mixture and Idle screw adjustment
The covering of the air intake on the filter housing indicates that the filter is allowing air to pass through very freely. So freely, in fact, that the fuel does not react to the vacuum, or lack of vacuum, created by this free-flowing filter. ME TOO ! !...My Gyro S currently has a filter foam that...

Re: 1985 Honda Gyro Mixture and Idle screw adjustment
I've had them at the service manual recommended two out for the air screw, and various settings for the idle screw. I have tried dozens of different variations, and the only thing that worked was covering the air intake. I don't believe that our problem is related to these settings. More detail in t...

Re: 1985 Honda Gyro Mixture and Idle screw adjustment
I hesitate to say anything, because I've said so many stupid things already in the past. Just when I think I have solved the problem, the next time I try and start it up it's the same old thing. It appears that I am in the same position as you. There is gasoline coming out of my fuel line when I dis...

Re: overheating with new windshield
It would seem that if top speed isn't reduced it wouldn't be the windshield.
But, as always, I reserve the right to be completely wrong.

Re: Gyro - general thread
WARNING/CORRECTION: Just in case anybody read my post about the snorkel inside of the airbox, I was completely wrong. The snorkel fits by way of its slot into the hole on the back of the airbox. The intake of the carburetor then fits into that. And it points up. There isn't any room for it to point ...
