Re: 1986 nq50 hard to get started
Also, is the new CDI a Honda brand or ebay cheapy? Best CDI for a Spree is stock, aftermarket ones are nothing but cheap junk that can make the trouble worse.

Re: Honda NQ50 / Spree carburetor - where to buy replacement
No, bystarter is on the wrong side, but some parts will fit in a Spree carb if you need to swap.

Re: New Spree owner!
It's pretty rare. I have every rare part you can think of for my 86', even an almost impossible to find Spree windshield that I only put on for bike shows then swap for a generic windshield when riding. I've been looking for a tote box in decent condition to complete it.

Re: New Spree owner!
Looks like an 86' to me, and are you interested in selling that trunk? As for the throttle problems, start by giving it a brand new properly oiled filter and a new spark plug. Carb might (probably) need cleaned, but start with the basics.

Re: FYI Stock PA Carb Pilots Exist
Malossi kit? I believe that is only for the variated version of the AF05. If that's what you are working with, then a bigger pilot will work out, on a Spree engine, absolutely not.

Re: FYI Stock PA Carb Pilots Exist
He's had them for quite a while, I've tried them on the dyno, the #34 pilot is overall still the best one to use if you are thinking of changing yours or replacing it.

Re: a bigger better battery
I use Battery Tender BTL09A120C 120CCA Lithiums in all mine. The Spree's crank faster and on my daughter's TaoTao, it makes a big difference with that BBK cranking compared to a regular battery. Regular battery, it will crank, but it's kind of slow and weak sounding, with the Lithium battery it cran...

Re: AF05 Bore Questions
:peace: Oh pokes at Meatball!!  OK, maybe he needs it just a bit. Sprees are a bit tricky though, credit to meatball where it is due. Everyone is always learning and that's a good thing. I'm happy with both of mine, though the speed/thrill factor has never been there for me given I ride/b...

Re: Centrifugal clutch
A clutch on any scooter will wear out over time and need to be replaced or repadded. You didn't specify what the issue was you are having, but we'll assume you are experiencing some slipping or it's not getting up to full speed or poor acceleration. A temporary fix, is to remove the clutch bell and ...

Re: Can't climb / go up even slight hills - Elite SB50 1989(?) - Clutch / belt issues
Sticking is possible, but not probable. You have springs inside it which prevent it from opening too soon. It works by centrifugal force. The belt spins the clutch very fast, think of a fair ride, like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfpW_yUgx3k The spinning is so great, that you are pinne...
