Re: Finding an Oil Pump Delete Plug for NQ50.
Heres the finished product. The plug would try to work its way out when I tightened it so I used the oil pump mounting bolt and a washer to hold it down. I had to take the washer to a bench grinder and grind away one side to allow for some wiring that was close by. You can also see in the pic that I...

Re: Finding an Oil Pump Delete Plug for NQ50.
Ive checked all the obvious things...kickstand loose, exhaust loose, motor mount loose...all tight. I was reading a thread about how sometimes one clutch pad wears thinner before the others causing an imbalance. This would give me the symptoms I describe: an increasingly intensifying vibration direc...

Re: Finding an Oil Pump Delete Plug for NQ50.
OK, guys. So I deleted the oil pump today and am running 32:1 in the tank. I was able to actually go WOT for the first time after bbk install. It pulls smooth without any hiccups to about 30-31 and just screams but....theres a major vibration somewhere. It rattles the bike so bad it makes my hands/f...

Doing gears on the 85' NQ50..what bearings?
So Im getting new gears from Taz pretty soon and am going to do the swap. While I have everything taken apart and having the trans cover off, what bearings should I replace? How many bearings are even accessible? Where do I get these bearings? Which ones are better than others? Do I need a machine p...

Re: Finding an Oil Pump Delete Plug for NQ50.
This is what Im looking at from advanced auto parts. Im wanting the upper washer to fit into the recessed part of the oil pump hole and the rubber shaft part to fit into the smaller/lower opening. Does anyone know these dimensions or should I try to measure my openings. It'd be nice if I had a calip...

Re: Ported spree
Since mine is in basically the same shape yours is, I can relate. Mine is also very boggy on take-off. It wakes up around 8mph and purrs up to 15mph. I haven't gone any faster than that since im taking it easy but its doing the same thing yours is..for my next tank of fuel Im going to cut back the o...

Re: Ported spree
What do you think of this? Its obviously made for high temp areas since its for an oil filler opening. Thoughts?

Re: Ported spree
You dont need to grind the gear off. You can just pull the oil pump out and pull the shaft gear right out of the pump and put it back in. Thatll delete the pump. Then on the hose that feeds and intakes oil into pump, cut them short (about 2") and find a machine screw that can thread into them ...

Re: Ported spree
so in that case, You have to take your muffler off. Then you take both of the exhaust nuts and thread them onto the same stud. Tighten the nuts together and cinch them back-to-back with two wrenches (or 1 wrench and a socket, whatever you have). Make sure the nuts are facing washer side to washer si...

Re: Ported spree
Do you mean the stud is loose where it screws into the motor? Btw, 1.25oz of oil per gallon is about 100:1.
