Re: Best bang for th buck with SE50 for more MPH.
Dude! You've met me in person a few times G9... you're probably right... on BOTH accounts! 220lb men have no business riding a spree as a daily driver! But that won't stop me, it's just way too fun! Haha! I just need some time to bring it down and see how it goes.

Re: Best bang for th buck with SE50 for more MPH.
Thanks for all the suggestions. Muffler is good, belt is good. I've been using a temp gun and it shows temps are in the 260-280 at the highest. I have 5.5 gram rollers in the polini variator too if that could be an issue at all. I'll check vacuum and fuel lines and start bringing the jetting down an...

Re: Best bang for th buck with SE50 for more MPH.
So I've got her all back together... right before I did the tear down and rebuild it kind of tanked on me... lost all top end power struggled to run at maybe 25mph... so I thought hey, must have run too lean (I put a new air filter on my polini without the rain gaurd) and ruined it... good time for ...

Re: Best bang for th buck with SE50 for more MPH.
Can I do what was suggested and just shade the teeth off of the gear and cap the hoses so there is no air leak? Seems easy enough...

Re: Best bang for th buck with SE50 for more MPH.
Thanks MrJumps. I have a 19mm Polini CP already installed from my stock bore and now it's on the BBK.
What mix should I run after the break in? Stock oil pump is still installed and functioning but what should I add to that?

Re: Best bang for th buck with SE50 for more MPH.
Well, I picked up the BBK and head. Next will be the intake. Still trying to track down a pipe for this thing...
Now on to the annoyingly slow break in of the BBK....

Re: Lighting option
Gearhart, how do they perform? Can you point me to some specifics? Like what LEDs you used and how you wired up the relay?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Lighting option
I think your right on with the DC to DC converter, should be easy to do that way, I just need to figure out how to mount that sucker in the headlight.

Thanks Meloshameless! That's a great starting point for me! I'll let you all know how it goes! How fast did yours go with that setup?

Re: Lighting option
Those batteries are also the same cells in some older Dell laptop batteries (which I have a ton of! I'm an IT guy...) and can rig something up to hold maybe 6 or 8 of them to run that sucker for a long time and have an extra pack so they can charge while I am using the other one... We shall see if I...

Re: Best bang for th buck with SE50 for more MPH.
I currently have a 3.0 rear tire on there. Is the head worth doing with the bbk? What size roller weights would you recommend with the Polini Variator? Also does anyone have a suggestion where to start jet wise with the 19mm Polini and BBK with head? I am currently running a pretty small main jet bu...

Re: Best bang for th buck with SE50 for more MPH.
benji,
Stupid question here but what is a 90/90 rear? Are you talking about the center spring in the rear?
Thanks!

Has anyone looked at figuring out how to mount something like a magic shine bike light inside the spree light? I'm trying to find a good solution even if it runs on external power of its own... this is what I'm wondering about: https://www.magicshine.us/product/mj-900-front-bike-light/ Thoughts? I'v...

Best bang for th buck with SE50 for more MPH.
Hi everyone! I've got an SE50 in my spree with a stock motor, 19mm polini cp carb, polini vari, and stock clutch and 6.5 gram rollers in the vari. I have a budget of about $350 and am looking for suggestions to get me going faster without totally killing acceleration. I'm currently doing right about...
