Re: '86 Gyro Cosmetic Resto Mod
I took the lazy guy approach to my templates...staring at 'em, I figured fine measurements were a touch on the meaningless side. You just get some cheap card stock...or do initial "measurements" with printer paper and then transfer them to the cardstock. You just need to pay attention to t...

Re: '86 Gyro Cosmetic Resto Mod
I'll get pics of the templates tomorrow...if that suffices, bingo. If not, I'll mail 'em. Putting them on here, might be useful for someone in the future. They're easy to make, and handy.

Re: '86 Gyro Cosmetic Resto Mod
Harley...if you're really interested in doing whatever I've done re: cover...I just ran across the templates I made, out of cardstock. They're used, not pretty, but still might give you a start on making your own, I can write some measurements on them, and post pics here for all mankind. Or throw th...

Re: '86 Gyro Cosmetic Resto Mod
Here's pretty much how I made it. First picture shows the pattern, using poster board. Then I lost confidence in being able to make nice bends in wide pieces of sheet metal (I used aluminum sheet). So I picked up a metal bending tool from Harbor Freight - under $10...modifying the design to a pretty...

Re: '86 Gyro Cosmetic Resto Mod
Thanks for the words, gentlemen. Here're a few pics, best as I could manage. I would call the cover an "ok" job. I made it by fitting carstock into the shape I wanted...the left side is very tricky, being that the cover fits into that groove...and then transferring the yardstick pattern to...

Re: '86 Gyro Cosmetic Resto Mod
Yep...I've seen that cover for $350...rare and obviously very pricey. I'll get a pic of mine up. Please don't get your hopes up. Mine is not all that finely done.

'86 Gyro Cosmetic Resto Mod
A quick pic of my '86 Gyro. Handlebars painted black. Wheels black with silver. No decals (I have yet to put new red/silver - NOT red/gold - decals on rear fender). New bullet directionals front/rear. New headlight. New seat by Cheekyseats (highly recommended). Unseen - engine cover made by me. Chro...

Re: TG50 carb hookup...?
I've learned plenty here - thanks for all your help! Just one last question...that barb situated near the base of the carb slide (you can see it in the lower right corner of my photo - it has a length of hose pushed onto it that I added for no particular reason)...what in the world attach to that ba...

Re: TG50 carb hookup...?
...not using premix? Only reason, was my not wanting to trust the pump. In terms of the carb. Any suggestion on what carb to use? My guess is, a $25 Chinese carb would probably be a poor choice. And a used OEM carb looks like it has no parts support.

Re: TG50 carb hookup...?
vintagegarage...I removed the muffler/fenders to get a more complete look at the carb. Yeah - I don't think I have an OEM carb on there...it has "I S O Performance" cast onto it - "PA" on another part of it. No "Keihn Japan". I think I have the multitude of hose connect...
