I know in Portland there's tons of them...mainly Vespa gangs. I started one down here in Newport...there's six of us...I own all the scooters ( 1986 Honda Sprees ).....we go by the name "GangGreen". If you see us, be afraid...be very afraid. :)

I recommend using USPMALE here on this site...guy knows his stuff and by the time you pay someone locally who "Might" know how to do it right, you could've gone to someone who DOES know how to do it right.

Here's the latest... Change the coil out....same results. Checked the throttle valve...it was already in the middle slot. Now... I decided to exchange the carbs... Fired right up...sounded better...reved up faster while on stand. Took it for a spin...much faster!! Had it up to 27 mph. I had it full ...

My Honda dealer will work on it...they've been great for advice over the phone but I'm afraid it'll cost me more than what the Sprees worth. I did use Honda 2 stroke motor oil. I have the air mixture screw 1 1/2 turns out from stop. Used the old head gasket...the aluminum one...in perfect condition....

Airbox isclean along with a new filter...I'll check the needle position this weekend...
Does the sparkplug tell you anything?
I thought maybe the throttle cable was bend or stuck but it has full range.

I'm about ready to take this to a Honda Dealer!!

I'm sooo frustrated right now! I did an engine swap from one 1986 Spree to another 1986 Spree. The engine I swapped out was running great...I put it into another Spree...hooked everything up and the engine won't go faster than 15 mph. It starts fine...revs up good while sitting on the kick stand...b...

Cleaning out the Muffler...

I read on the forum about using oven cleaner to clean out the muffler. I put about a can of it inside both ends and let it set for 4 hours or so....I then flushed it with water from the hose thinking I would just tip it upside down a few times and that should take care of it....WRONG! For some reaso...

New problem same area..... So everything works with the starter now....kickstart works also.....HOWEVER.....when the engine is running, and you touch the kickstarter, you can hear/feel grinding. I've had this thing apart 3 times and I'm pretty sure it's been installed correct. If I pull out on the k...
