Thanks for the photo and advice.....I shouldv'e noted that the spindle wasn't in yet....I was more thinking bout the bearing/bushing and how much it sticks up. I guess what I'm asking is this.....when I removed the spindle, the bushing came out with it. Is this right? If you look at my picture, that...

Somethings wrong...photos included.

So I took the cover off of the drive pulley case to cleanup the starter pinion. I put it all back together and went to start the engine with the electric starter and I heard some grinding. I pulled the case back off and noticed that the kick starter drive doesn't appear to come out of the hole all t...

Starter is shot.
Hooked it up to battery and nothing.
I took it apart and everything looked fine.
Does anyone know where to get one of these? I called a Hoda dealer and he said they don't make them anymore.

Thanks!

Must be a bad starter....

I bought another 1986 Spree a couple weeks ago and the ecetric start doesn't work. First thing I did was clean the contacts on the button....and after that I could hear the starter "clicking" with each push. I thought maybe the pin that is suppose to be in the out position on the left hand...

Don't know about those but I just bought a Spree last week and the guy put a new tire on the rear...took it for a test drive and afterwards noticed that the kickstand was rubbing on one side. He put a brand new 2.75x10 on the rear...too big! So now I'm wondering about putting that tire on the front ...

Right on...thanks for the replies. I really didn't want to remove the oiler. I probably won't be doing any long trips till Summer...actually most of my driving is just in town driving.
Thanks again for all the info :D

How long should one drive/oil question....

I was talking to a friend who knows more about motorcycles and 2 stroke than I do...He brought up something along the lines of how 2 strokes shouldn't be drivin for long distances at fast speeds and such. Sooooo... is there a guideline for the Spree as far as how long ( timewise ) one should drive w...

Blinker question...

Can a regular blinker relay from a car replace the one that is for a 1986 Honda Spree? Mine is shot and I just found out that there $47 to replace.....kinda spendy. Has anyone replaced one with an over the counter relay from NAPA? I'm not talking about one from some new huge 4x4 Ford pickup...maybe ...
