She's finally done!
My restoration project and mild bbk build 87 Elite SE50 is finally done. Just have to put some gas in it and we'll see if she wants to start.

She’s gettin’ there!
My project bbk 87 Elite SE50 is almost done. Took it all the way down to the frame just cleaning and detailing it out. Only things left are basically the intake system (reeds to filter) and a pipe, which seems to be a pipe-dream just trying to find one that fits with no modifying. I bought another v...

New Addition: 94 Elite S
Yesterday I picked up this unmolested red '94 Elite S. It needs a good cleaning and some freshening up, but she's all there. It runs, but is a little tired, but the engine, trans, etc are getting rebuilt anyway. This Elite, a parts-bike 99 Elite with no engine, some extra used parts and even some ne...

Re: Panel Restoration
Decals are on. Since it now has a BBK, I figured the Piston Honda decal was fitting. Some of you fellow old-timers might appreciate that one! LOL

Re: She rides kinda rough and is a little slow
LOL Yeah, this was my plan since I got the Spree. Goal is to build it up into something fun out of it with a variated af05e from an elite and save the Elite for an af16e swap or obtain a 94 or newer SR50, which is happening in the next few weeks. I'm getting a package deal on it along with an extra ...

She rides kinda rough and is a little slow
Just kidding! My 87 Spree partially disassembled and awaiting its new heart...a variated one.

Question about private messages
I have reached out to a couple of fellow members via private message, but have received no responses. Upon sending, a little window appears that says "message sent successfully". Weird part is that they only show up sitting in my outbox and not in the sent folder. Makes me wonder if that's...

Re: Panel Restoration
Yep. Did the other panel that way. The pics shows the heat-treated one and the finish sanded (to 1200) one side-by-side. They both need buffed, polished and waxed yet, but I'm pretty pleased with the results so far.

Panel Restoration
Doing it the hard way on the old 87 with the body panels. Started sanding all by hand with 220 grit, a razor blade and a Scotch-Brite pad. Then 320, more blade and pad since it had such a rough sand job prior followed by 400 and 500, which is where it is now. Will be seeing 600, 1000 and 1200 before...

Re: Replacement Carburetor Question
Awesome. That is great to know. As for assuming, I know better than to do that and roll with it lol! It has just sat there untouched until I learned the answer. Now I'll dare to touch it! Now I should get the better elite intake manifold and better reed pedals. Not looking toward performance gains p...

Re: Replacement Carburetor Question
It already has a small 90° rubber hose on another port high up on the carb. I was assuming that was the vent. For all lines associated, I have both the oil line and vacuum line that go into the intake manifold. Then on the carb are the fuel feed line, the float bowl drain line, and lastly, the vent ...

Replacement Carburetor Question
Hey, all. I'm Dan. Newbie here. I recently acquired an 84 Spree and then got an 87 yesterday. They are both "can run/will run" projects. I have a quick, easy question about an extra, unused nipple on a brand new replacement carburetor that came with one of Sprees. Neither of the old carbs ...
