Another thought. Take the fuel filter that PO added off the bike and just run a line straight from petcock to carb. If s/he used a car filter they have too much resistance to fuel flow (a proper "small engine" or motorcycle filter should be used). That could account for the running, then ...

Sounds good from the distribution end just like you say. What do you think about from the failure side? - Failure condition: Leaking petcock valve, oil tank level lower than level of gas tank. Could (over time) gas force a reverse flow up the oil tube & though the pump? That would create a star...

Turn the air screw out half a turn. It's too lean.

were you thinking of doing this with a se50 intake installed? The SB50 intake and yes. Every carbed outboard I every saw was oil into the fuel line before the carb. To answer kenny's question; being sucked thru the venturi section of the carb would give a more even oil distribution than just being ...

Changing the oil input on a Spree.

Has anyone tried putting the oil from the pump into a "t" in the gas line before the carb, instead of using the nipple on the intake port? Would probably need to jet up one size but it would give you a better oil distribution.

Actually if you are gonna use oil, use the same stuff you have in your oil tank. That's what most manufactures will recommend if you don't use assembly lube.

For the wrist pin and rod bearings use assembly lube and they almost never have an issue then. There ae ring installing tools out there, but all I have ever use is the thumb nails on each hand to hook the ends of the ring and then stretch it only enough to fit over the piston.

I have a bad oil pump and have removed gear. I installed a 3/8 steel nipple which slides inside the pump where gear was but is bigger in diameter. Nipple is about 3/4" to 1" longer than pump (about an inch shorter than gear so it clears crank and bearing). If someone locally can weld the ...

My spree has no bystarter needle either, so I am guessing it's running rich as well. What's the consequences for this? Two strokes running rich tend to loose their oiling ability due to the gas diluting the oil and washing what oil there is away. Not enough oil and metal to metal happens in rotatin...

Is anyone trying this mod out? Wondering if others are or wait till I do it. Does aluminum weld to steel? Once winter sets in I will be pulling my engine down and shaving the head, doing either the intake port job or switching to the SB50 intake and reeds (probably the SB50 thing), a pipe of some s...
