My apologies if you guys don't like old posts being dredged up. I like to keep everything in one place rather than creating a new thread for every update. I ordered a new bystarter yesterday, should be getting it on Thurs. or Fri. of this week. After reading some other threads here, I figured it'd b...

I soldered the new bystarter on to the exising connectors, but I'm getting the same issue. If I hold my thumb over the bystarter hole for a minute, I'm able to insert the bystarter and it runs fine. It'll even restart after being off for a half hour or so. I'm still leaning towards it being the byst...

Bystarter hole plugged = starts; Bystarter in = 5 sec idle.
So I 'm having a strange problem with the Spree. I've had the thing running. I even took it on a 20mi or so drive. The problem is: when starting from cold, it doesn't start unless I take off the bystarter and put my thumb over the hole. If I let it idle for a few minutes this way I can insert the by...

I received the airbox cover and air filter, and installed them this past Friday. After 20 minutes of riding the scooter around the neighborhood, I got up the gumption to ride it 25 miles to my parent's house (who I purchased the scooter from). It seemed to work fine. It randomly bogged down, so I'm ...

Fuel Line Size
I couldn't find this information listed anywhere on the forum.
What is the recommended fuel line I.D. (inside diameter)? To be very specific, I mean the hoses (the stock ones are red cloth-covered) that go from the fuel valve to the carburetor and from the vacuum end of the fuel valve to the intake.

The nut on the spark plug terminal came off easily, and I replaced the bolts holding the carb to the intake with some properly fitting ones. The scoot now idles perfectly and revs perfectly. If the tires had air in them, I'd have driven it around the block a few times. Tomorrow I get the air filter,...

The first snag was not realizing that the little nut covering the spark plug terminal can be removed. My first test involved simply pressing the plug boot hard against the terminal so there was enough of a connection to make a spark. I haven't removed it yet, but I hear that it can be removed :). To...

First time poster... I've been reading for a week though. Thanks to this board, I got enough confidence to buy a $50, '85 Honda Spree that had been sitting around for 8 years. Well, long story short: I changed a fuse, drained/replaced the fluids, changed the plug, and got it running for about a minu...
