I guess I will clean it out again. I let it sit in the carb dip for almost 2 full days. Took it out then went over everything I could get at with a toothbrush and some Acetone to help dry everything out. then hit it with the high air. I do have a new insulator, and new rubber o ring for the back of ...

Okay Progress!!! I let the carb soak well, Cleaned everything again. Pumped up my compressor to 150PSI which is the max and ran the blow gun through a needle for filling basketballs. blew everything out. Put it all back together and partial success. I got the spree to start and run, but I needed to ...

No problem. The female unit is all over me to get it running so she can take it to work. (work is .5 miles away and she drives our civic there) so there will be probably a quart of gas savings every week....... I bought it for her last October, and promptly like any good husband or man for that matt...

The two SQUARES yes I see them. When someone referenced the lid having holes I took it literally looking for round holes. Also read posts about folks drilling extra holes in the airbox. So thats what I was looking for. When they were then described as rectangles I looked for rectangles. When you loo...

Slap me around and call me Susan. I will take it apart this weekend and let it sit over night in the carb dip. I got it at Napa. as far as the power wash I was a bit leary about blasting that stuff and getting water where it shouldnt be. I will spray it down as well once everthing is buttoned up. Ba...

Ill pull the plug and get a photo of that too. I dont have any tubes whatsoever coming off the airbox lid. Maybe this is the problem. I may have mentioned this before. but the Prior owner had clipped the yellow wire on the bystarter and taped it off. The bystarter was no good. When I got this, I plu...

I have cleaned the carb three times, All times it sat in the jug of carb dip for probably over an hour, Blew it out all times with 80 PSI of compressed air, cleaned every opening with a single small wire. The float is brand new OEM. Brand new in that it has less than 2 miles on it. I will take a pho...

Okay, There are no holes other than the one large one going to the carb in the airbox. I plugged this hole with my two fingers and the engine will not start or run, It sputtered a bit and that was all. To the point where gas was leaking out of the carb bottom. I checked the throttle Needle clip, It ...

Okay, I tried to put a few rubber washers under the bystarter to see if that would seal up some air and make any difference. with three small washers there I was able to start it up and run it for a bit, So at least My finger is not over the hole. I think it warmed up enough and then it would not re...

Well I tinkered again with it tonight and might as well take it to someone now. Same problem. I can just put the bystarter loosly in the hole, not seating it all the way and it will run and start but the bystarter is very loose and moves around a lot. Basically setting the retaining ring in the groo...

Okay, So re wire the bystarter, I have it wired right now in the stock configuration, Yellow to yellow, green to green? Second, what you explained makes sense but where could air be getting in from? With the engine running (finger covering hole) I sprayed some brake cleaner on the intake and all of ...
