Cycling of Idle speed
Any ideas what would cause idle speed to cycle up and down? It will consistenty go from a very low, "near-stalling" idle speed to racing idle speed. The bystarter is brand new and the Carb is immaculate, air element/box are brand new, gas new and clean. It starts and runs fine, just that t...

yeah the bystarter came complete with wires, plastic parts, needle/barrel brass parts attached to plastic via a spring. it was like $40 plus shipping. as I understand it, they work by some sort of wax inside the plastic expanding and contracting as the engine heats or cools. on mine at least, someho...

abandoned elite? how do i get it?
this is hard to believe but parked in a commercial parking lot lot near my house i've noticed an elite (year??) just sitting there. i'm just about positive that it's abandoned because it never moves and it seems to be just rotting away.... it has been there all summer untouched as far as i can tell....

Survey question about "weak links" on scoots
First of all, thanks to all of your help, i've gotten my Aero 50 (1983) that i recently bought running well. it was all due to a genuinely fautly bystarter and thankfully I found one on bikebandit. As i've learned, these are a very weak link on these scooters and seem to be a big annoyance for many....

Rain / water on a scooter
I live in NC where we often have afternoon thurnderstorms with downpours. Since I ride it to school, sometimes it sits in the rain. I am curious...how bad is it for a scooter to be sitting out in in the rain? Is there anything that should be done to protect the scoot from rain (other than putting on...

thanks a lot... what you said, i've done it now and basically have determined that my bystarter is not fully retracting. it retracts a couple of mm (maybe 1-2mm max) at most but that's it and I think this isn't enough to open the fuel enrichment circuit. what i did was take off the pin and the sheat...
