Average intake pressures in a two-stroke are relatively low, the key being "average." The intake pressures are low on average because there's not a lot of temperature change going on - however, there a lot of pressure fluctuation - this is why taking off your air cleaner makes your engine ...

It's a 0w-40w synthetic that substitutes for oils up to 90w.

I might be breaking in another set of gears soon, so I haven't tried the synthetic yet.

Oh, I was thinking along the lines that pressures inside of an engine are very high, and that unless you're forcing pressurized gas through, then you're only likely to find relatively large leaks.

The latest oil I'm trying is from the same company I use for my pre-mix, Manhattan Oil.

It's an oil that replaces 20-50w, but up to 90w.

It's an uncannily light oil, but I'm going to be testing it extensively and looking at the gears after a reasonable amount of riding.

Yes, it's going to make both your take-off and your top speed worse.

Old ones read better than new ones. Just make sure that you use the color of the plug when you put it in before you chop it.

It's a stupid idea.

Don't take the pressures in an engine for granted.

Dave and his shop aren't active right now, but smart folks still seek him out for advice or if they really need help w/something. Part of it is accident-related health impacts and then there's probably some burn-out after so many years of ped and motorcycle racing, and dealing with stupid people. AF...

Check your front and rear pulleys for rust. Also, check your rear pulley for excessive play and/or cracks. Check your weights too. Keep your rear pulley uncovered (removes heat). Try a stock belt and see if it shreds. "Kevlar" sounds nice but I'm not sure what the material properties of Ke...

Hello again, Honda elite 1997 So a couple weeks ago I took off the pulley and removed the plate that restricted the top speed of the moped. While the crank case was off and the pulley was off I looked at the rollers. It appeared that the rollers have flat spots on them from wear and tear. Should I ...
