You could try a product called cable lube. Maybe the best would just be to get a new throttle cable. yeah, I agree..if the cable is bent and not straight and such it would be best to just get a new cable. As for sludge I don't see why you couldn't get something to clean it out..I've seen some wicke...

I checked the plug and after however many miles the color is still pretty light..I'm not liking it..A week ago I adjusted the throttle needle and put it in the bottom notch I believe as with the cooler weather to richen it up some as I know the colder weather leans the mixture I am running the stand...
