I am in the process of installing new rings in my 86 Spree. The cylinder looks really good, no scoring or sings of a ridge, etc. The new ring end gaps look great. OK, here is what I found out so far. I split the case this weekend, and found that the crank bearings were definitely the problem. The rod end bearings look to be in fine shape, just the main crank bearings. The cylinder, piston, and rings look like they are in great shape. I guess that explains the...
