Re: How is this possible?
I put some starting fluid in the cylinder and it did the trick. I guess it needed some help pulling the gas into the cylinder. I figured that the piston going up and down from me trying to start it would have been enough of a vacuum to pull in the gas. But after I added the starter fluid it works gr...

Re: How is this possible?
Thanks for all the replies. Its a brand new plug and I gapped it correctly. I checked the spark and it is there. I have the airbox and filter tightly connected to the carb. As for the muffler being clogged how can I test this? Just put my hand over it while I try to start it? The engine won't run at...

How is this possible?
I am working on a 1988 SB50 honda elite. I cannot get it to start. I have tested the spark and it is good. I have good compression around 145. I cleaned the carb jets and reassembled. I tested the petcock by sucking on the vacuum line and the gas starts to poor out, so I am guessing the petcock is w...

1988 Honda Elite Starting Question.
I have a 1988 SB50 honda elite that runs and drives just fine when its running. The problem is that when the scooter is started for the first time (after a 4-5 days of not running) it can take up to 45 kicks to get it running. I thought it might be a problem with the fuel or vacuum line so I changed...

Re: Elite Acceleration
So the SB50 is supposed to have horrible acceleration? I have an 85 spree that will accelerate WAY faster. I mean my elite is BAD. Could it be a clogged exhaust?

Elite Acceleration
I am trying to figure out why my 88 SB50 honda elite accelerates so slowly. I tested the compression and it says its 120 after about 6 kicks. I opened up the carb and it was clean but I blew out the main jet just to be sure. I openeed the airbox and make sure the air filter was in there and it was, ...

Honda Elite question
I recently bought a honda elite. When I start the scooter, sit on it, and rev the engine, the engine reacts but it the bike itself has a delayed reaction and does not move for a few seconds. When the bike does react its all of a sudden and not smooth like another elite I used to have. What could be ...

Carb tuning question
My 85 spree runs fairly well after 10 mph but has kind of sluggish acceleration. Does this mean that the air screw is too rich or too lean? Thanks.

Alright so I WD-40ed everywhere and made sure it was all clean and still I cannot get a spark. What would my next step be? I know there are lots of knowledgable people on this site. Is there a way to test the different wires to find out what is wrong by the process of elimination? I really dont want...

Thanks I am really frustrated cuz I had to apply for a title which took over a month and it had been running fine for over a month and the day I get the thing * it doest ...

No more spark
I drove my moped about one week ago and it was starting fine. I tried to start my moped today and all it did was kept turning over but never started running. I took out the spark plug and there was no park. Does anyone know most likely cause is for this problem? Thanks.
