Your opinion on this '01 Elite? Thinking about buying

I looked at this 2001 SA50P over the weekend: http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c397/ghia914/Elite.jpg It has 1,100 miles on it. The owner won't go any lower than $750. Your thoughts? He used it as a pit bike for his drag car. Starts and runs well and has a new battery. Other than that, I don't thin...

Thanks - thats good to know. So if I'm understanding correctly, by being non-restricted, an SA50 owner wouldn't have to do any of this? 1. (exhaust) remove the exhaust and you will see a washer with a 1/4" hole welded into the headder flange. use a dremel, or step bit to drill this out to the 1...

Thanks - thats what I thought. One more question - in looking over the parts diagrams, there is an SA50 and an SA50P both in the same year. Whats the difference?

Elite S vs. Elite SR - what's the difference?

In 2000 and 2001 Honda offered both the "S" and the "SR". Whats the difference between the two? Was it just color and decals?

You'll see a wire junction under a rubber boot a few inches to the left of the carb. Pull back the boot (if it hasn't been already) and you'll see the two wires of matching color that the bystarter plugs in to.

Were the SB50 and SA50 offered at the same time?

Just so I'm clear - as long as its a 2001 Elite, I'm good to go no matter what?

Is there any difference in the engine/transmission between the various flavors of elites offered from '94-'01? Do they all have Dio's from this era? I'm wondering about the differences between an "S" and an "SR", etc. There is an '01 "S" for sale locally that I'm consid...

If all that you're missing is the lever, its a piece of cake provided you can find the part. Try Honda first and then look for a used one if they have discontinued it. If you're missing the internal parts to the kickstart it will be more of a challenge to find the parts. Do you see the shaft (that t...

Honda HAS discontinued, and HONDA WORLD my shop that can find anything can't find me a muffler. Thats a problem then. If the later muffler that you bought would work, they would have superceded the part number to that one. There is a chance they discontinued both of them, but its unlikely. It was a...

I'm sure about which one is original and which is not because I own one. What I'm not sure about is whether or not the later model muffler that you bought will work. It might work, but you would have been safer buying the one in the first picture. Actually, the more I look at the pictures, it looks ...

Re: I got this.....

I just got this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&viewitem=&item=260147658376 $50 out the door with insurance. And its coming from one state over, so it shouldn't take long. How did I do with that price? That's actually not an '83 muf...

I own an '84 Aero 50 - identical to your '83 in every way (except color). The '83-'84's are rather unique compared to the later Aeros, Elites and Sprees. This is a bad thing when it comes to finding parts as there is little that is interchangeable with the later scooters. The engine has a longer str...

This is the muffler you need: http://cgi.ebay.com/Honda-AERO-50-NB50-Scooter-Moped-MUFFLER_W0QQitemZ280226626469QQihZ018QQcategoryZ11332QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem It didn't sell, so maybe you can make a deal with the seller. Notice it has only one mount hole - this identifies it as an '83...
