Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

I have an 87 Honda Elite, that I think is over fueling. It will run for a while or couple miles, after about a mile of going 35pmh... it fouls a plug. I know this seems like a stupid question, but could it be the oil that over fueling causing the plug to foul, or the gas? Thanks anyone for you help!

Thanks Kenny. I havent gotten the chance to clean it yet. But say its clean. Than, in your opinion, what would be my next step in the process of elimination?

If the carb was clogged wouldnt that mean no gas as well?

I was putting over to my sisters house...and as soon as I let off the throttle she died...I pushed her to my sisters got her to fire up...but there was no smoke in the exhaust at all. K guys my speedometer is shot. The cable is brand new. I know when I get home Im going to check to see if that slot where the cable goes ( apolgys for not knowing part names) spins. From what I understand if it spins, its shot....So how do i replace it, fix it, or name that part. Any help is appreci...

Okay I cant get my speedometer to work. I have a brand new cable checked both connections and nothing. Anyone help me out would be greatly greatly appreciated. Also Does anyone know what number for the turn signal light bulbs...like my car is 1156? Just curious if they were numbered same type of sys...

I just switched to castrol injection oil... and i havent done a compression check because it runs...so I didnt think I needed one the engine must have compression?

How do you turn down the oil mixture? Or how do you by pass the automatic oiler? My scoot is up and running again but still smoking like crazy. Think its running to rich. Any ideas anyone?

well it probably only ran with that oil ima guess a total of 2 miles. But thanks everyone for the help. Ill post pics of the build soon

So whats teh chances I just fried my scooter...and 2 where could one pick up injector oil?

So Ive been rebuilding my 87 elite now for a couple months. FINALLY got it running friday night.,..got all the plastics on. rode it around our property (live on a little farm) no problems. Hey guys just wondering what everyone uses and what needs to be covered up when you clean an engine off on these little things. what can/cant get wet etc.?? I know what to cover up on a car but not so much on a little scooter
