40:1 in my pit scooter. I removed the oil pump and made a blocking plate for it.
Arrived at 40:1 via this forum and the fact that my chain saws uses the same.

For cleaning little bitty holes in carbs go to a welding supply shop or Northern Tools and get a tip cleaning tool.
It has multiple fine round files. Mine cost about 10 bucks and has been priceless for cleaning welding tips and Weber carbs.

Last week my 84 spree died while riding. I let it sit about 30 minutes and it ran fine after that. Sunday it started but only ran about 25 seconds then slowed and died. Thanks. I'll try the closed loop idea and see what it does. It's just used at races to haul me around between heats.

Anyone know the correct mixture to run in a 84 Spree. My oil pump is disabled and I plan on mixing rather than throwing more money at it.

My starter spins but not enough to engage the bendix. Battery is charged.
Is the starter going out or is the bendix questionable?

Any good auto parts store has gasket paper. Cut out your own lower gasket. If you can save the old one you have a pattern to use. cost is under $5 for the sheet. If that's too much money try a paper grocery bag.
A sharp EXACTO knife and a little patience is all it takes.
