~60mph... then the engine seized. =(

PS -- It had no problem getting to 45... My buddy was driving next to me at 60mph when the motor seized.

What does your gas gauge do when you turn your bike off? Does it stay on the correct fuel level or does it drop to E?

Mine always shows the reading regardless of the position of the key.

So I decided to have my friend drive next to me and I obviously didn't put enough miles on the engine to go wide open. As soon as I hit 60 the engine made a popping noise and now the kick start won't even rotate the crank. I'm guessing that the piston melted to the cylinder walls. If that's the case...

What about insurance? Does any one have their scooter insured? I was thinking about doing so when I start using this as primary transportation as I will live less than 3 miles from everything I need when I move.

It's the SA50P... I believe it was the 1994 Elite S, but it didn't have the split throttle cable so I don't know. Oh and I it's a 75cc bore.

Anyone else running anything over a 72cc setup?

I have 7.5:1 from VT and a v8 pipe. Once I get up to about 5mph it takes off like a rocket to about 35-40... I'm still breaking in the engine though so I haven't had a chance to really open it up.

P.S. I changed the whole content portion of my main entry as I am going to use this as a section to log what I'm doing/have done.

I heard that you can if you don't have the car on, but don't quote me on that. I used my dads boat batteries to charge the battery temporarily to use the starter on my Elite. They are the same as car batteries.
