I've never owned a '94 or newer bike, but I don't think that the headlight turns on with the ignition on.

The hand brake needs to be applied in order for the starter to engage.

If that doesn't work then check to see if the brake lights are working. if not, it may be a defective brake switch.

The dio gears work fine you just have to replace the 3 shafts with dio ones. Drop in no machining. Straight swap? Wow, good deal! :) BTW evil, here's an old trick for an '87 engine that will give you a quicker revving bike. All of the '87 engines that I've seen have a thick heavy drive face. swap i...

I can't believe that there are no aftermarket gears for an '87 anymore. Let me check the shop that I buy my parts from. He might have some around somewhere. I should have done some stocking up... If not check out this thread: http://hondaspree.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5275 Looks like the guy...

I think that they're the same, except your old one is slightly taller (Japan Height).

Good deal on the MPH! Your engine must be revving like crazy with the stock gears. Now all you need to do is to find some aftermarket gears. :)

As far as weights, I usually baseline at 7's all around and go up or down from there.

That '99 S for $925 would be a great deal here, so it depends on where you live I guess.

How about doing a cut and paste on the ads, instead of posting a link? Many of them have already been deleted....

If you want to buy parts, start off with a high speed pulley and an assortment of weights, a new belt, plugs, & filter. See how the bike rides after tuning up what you have. Then make an assessment of where you want to go with your project, and buy your parts accordingly... Also, invest in an el...

so a highspeed pulley is the same as the variator??? Yes. what are the rollers and weights i always hear about? Rollers and weights are different names for the same thing. They go inside of the pulley, and are held in by a ramp. Pimpin- Don't take this the wrong way, but do you have someone that ca...

With that combo (once tuned), you'll have more than enough power to push any of those gears. :)

I think that you'll be happier with either the 7.5 or the 7.0. :D

Give the 8 a try. The worst that can happen is that you'll foul the plug. No big deal.

I think however, that you will be fine with one of the 7's that I mentioned.

3 gram weights? I bet the bike likes to rev.... Have you tried a little heavier on the weights?

If you run the bike hard and have modifications done to it, you might want to go with a colder plug. BPR7HS/BP7HS/B7HS.

Not a big deal. Disassemble the carb and clean out all of the passages; there is a clog somewhere.

You'll be fine. :)

I wish I had some to sell! Aside from the 8.44 set, all of the stuff there is "take off" stuff. I just kept the packaging to put the stock ones in.... If I knew that the Malossi gears woud be so hard to get nowadays, I would have stocked up, along with some, Arrow pipes, DIO engines, all o...
