Pull the bowl off of the carb. If there is fuel in the bowl around 1/2 full, then you know that the petcock valve & float mechanism are working, and that your carb is getting fuel. If there's no fuel in the bowl, pull the vacuum line off of the manifold that leads to the fuel petcock. Then pull ...

No spare S blocks right now, but I'm working on it. :) I do have a complete Sym engine that I just picked up.

I'll verify the (gear ratio) numbers by doing the clutch/tire turn method when I get a chance. Maybe I could attach a degree wheel to be somewhat accurate?... :P

d*** dude  what else you got? Unfortunately, not a whole lot. Not anymore.. :( A few pulleys, ramps, clutches, manifolds, drive faces, etc. A long time ago, I used to help others in tuning and installing parts on their bikes. A lot of the time, people just left or gave me the old stuff. I toss...

Apparently, I'm running 6.475:1 gears in my Spree, and NOT the 7:1 like I thought. (42/12) * (37/20) = 6.475 Thanks for the help! :) My old 8.44:1 gears. Soon to be installed in a new project. http://inlinethumb59.webshots.com/43770/2253628970047842230S600x600Q85.jpg Dug up some parts in the g...

Yes, grind, file, Dremel to flow more air. Not too much though, and definitely not on a stock bike with no mods. Also FYI, there's no butterfly, there's a slide. Although it's pretty easy, I would not recommend doing this if you've never done it before. The carb has to be completely disassembled, an...

so if i do i big bore do i def need a bigger carb? Not necessarily, but you will need a larger jet for sure. what about a spree carb with a bigger jet on an se50 elite motor Open up the carb a bit with a grinder (after disassembly). Not too much though. You can open it up to the stock SE50 size, or...

How do you calculate the gear ratio on a Honda?

Since there are different combinations of countershaft small & large, final, and driveshaft gears, how is the gear ratio calculated?

I had a friend show me how to do this about 15 years or so ago, but I don't remember anymore.... :?

Sick! Looks like a fricken beast! Nice job! :D How long is the stretch on THAT one?... Okay, I'd like a similar look as the silver bike, so I'll make a mental note that I want at least a 7" stretch on the mount. How is the ride on it afterwards? I'm never going to race anywhere, or hang turns. ...

I be going over to Kona by the end of the year. My original plan was to schedule the trip to coincide with a BIHRA track meet, and to visit a good friend in Hilo that I haven't seen for a few years. Inter island flights are almost $100 each way now. What ever happened to $29?!?.. BTW, how muc...
