Re: Warm Up ?
I rate the warm up, as I am running the alternative plug (BPR8HSA as per manual) for extended high speeds, and its an ugly pig if I just jump on and flog it for the first 3 miles. All it takes is a couple minutes idling away and I can usuall hear the bystarter cut off and the revs drop slightly and ...

Re: Restoring a 1988 Spree
Wheelman- might well have been the thread. When I was a sparky I had a bad habit of monkey fisting bolts (overtightening) for fear of them vibrating loose. Thanks for the tips. Yet another reason steel will never go out of fashion for all-u-minimum-strength metals

Re: Restoring a 1988 Spree
Bear-I'm fully aware it will have been the way I held my toungue/the wind/the spree felt like going faster/insert other random variable here would have been the reason for any speed change. I did notice after a clean of the carb it did move from a crusising speed of approx 45kph to 50kph, no idea wh...

Re: i fail at life
So no ones sent the Noisy one a pm and requested a change.
I've been on other forums using this software where its been set up so the admin (or the moderators if admin wishes) can change it to whatever you ask.
Might be more grief for Noiseguy than its worth(I'm no tech guy), but worth the asking.

Re: Carb adjustment
Are these the idle and mixture screws you refer to or does the US carb have two screws to adjust fuel mix?

Re: Restoring a 1988 Spree
Wouldnt be surprised, seeing as how I have the same #68 main jet as you guys (apart from some poor restricted folks in Iowa it looks like) Having a better run now I've richened up the mixture screw to 1 1/2 turns out. Gained 2 mph with 1/8th of a turn! Makes me want to try another 1/8th :D :coolcrui...

Re: More noises coming from my rear!!!!
Also, look at replacing the rear wheel bearings as they can result in nasty noises/damage

Re: More noises coming from my rear!!!!
Dude, you should lay off the beans :bowrofl: Sorry, couldnt help myself with a thread title like this. Seriously, this click- is it a constant thing or occasional e.g. when starting/stopping, leaning over etc? Have you checked the oil in the final drive assembly on the back wheel end of the bike? Is...

Re: take the Iowa out of my spree
Assuming I understand this right,
if I already have a 68 main jet, theres nothing to be gained by butchering the muffler (apart from sore ears) ?
