Re: Cordless Impact on crank and clutch bolt
Just use that to grab the teeth and then put a wrench on the nut to tighten or loosen it. You mean use the strap wrench on the teeth of the front pulley so that isolates the crank from getting shocked by the impact? I don't use the impact to put those nuts on, but I use them to take the nuts off, a...

Re: Cordless Impact on crank and clutch bolt
When you use an impact like this on a pressed together crank, you need to use a strap wrench to hold the flywheel so the impacts are not transferred to the crank itself. http://milo.com/craftsman-strap-wrench-aluminum- Are you guys talking about when removing the nut that holds the front drive face...

Re: Cordless Impact on crank and clutch bolt
DONT USE IT! I've trashed the threads on my crankshaft after only a couple of times! It was a new crankshalft as well.
I now only use a oil fiter grip to hold it and a wrench to get the nut off and tighten.

Re: VIN Location on 88 Elite LX
If thats true then he's only got 2 options right. 1. Part it all out and make your money back the best you can. 2. Buy a new frame and replace the stolen frame with it. Now if he went to the DMV and tried to get a license for that bike and the true VIN came up stolen he'd be out a scooter.. if it wa...

Re: Winterize/Storing my 2 Elites over the winter. Questions
It looks like your 88 is going to require major surgery next spring anyway. Put some stabilizer in the tank, pull the battery and take inside. I agree with former poster that Seafoam is tops. Do same prep for the SR, but running it a mile or two will insure Seafoam is in the carburetor. Your float ...

Re: Winterize/Storing my 2 Elites over the winter. Questions
That didnt go good.. I'm 1 for 2. The newer 2001 Elite SA50 SR was fine.. Took a min or 2 to start and forever to warm up as its cold out today. Ran it around the block a few times. The other one has some serious problems. The 1988 SA50 LX has a oil leak from the bottom screw on the Carb. Cant remem...

Re: Winterize/Storing my 2 Elites over the winter. Questions
Welp no money to buy another charger unless its real cheap. Could i just take the battery out and hope for the best or would it drain?
Thats gona suck to get all the gass out of the tank to fill it with the new stuff. I've done it once before.. just a pain to figure out how to get rid of it.

Winterize/Storing my 2 Elites over the winter. Questions
I need to store my 2 honda elites this winter and would like to know whats important to do. I've read How to winterize / long term store your scooter from noisebuy but still am confused.
