I think I've spent a total of $300 on my Spree, and that includes the $180 purchase price...however, I have not modded it yet, I just got it running and brought it back to stock. I guess we'll see about the mods this summer.....

Well, you can buy fancy 8 and 9 LED flashlights at your neighborhood hardware store.....with a small transformer, you could drop the voltage down to 4.5V DC, and, boom, you have headlights brighter than stock, with minimal amperage drain.

If you're not fit for a Honda Spree....maybe you should stick with power wheels, because internal combustion engines don't come much simpler than this, my friend.....

My '86 also does this.....I let it warm up on stand, take it to ride, stutters a little for about 100 feet or so, then runs like a champ. I agree, just warming up, it is probably still running a little rich...

yup, still clogged jets....have fun.

It's the pilot (idle) jet. It is clogged. When you first start it up, the bystarter circuit is letting gas in (like it should) and playing substitute for the pilot jet, but when it warms up and the bystarter closes off the extra fuel, the bike leans out and dies. I bet if you let it cool down for ab...

Be careful with adding too much in the area of lighting, as these little stators don't put out much surplus power. Check the total output, and then subtract what the headlight, tail light, ignition, and battery take away. I wouldn't want to see you blow a stator over this....

I used to be into building my own R/C cars (now I'm into R/C airplanes). Most things you can pick up yourself (speed control, receiver, motor), unless you're dead-set on them being originals....

Well, biking fo now, they're too young to pull my weight on a sled (all 170 lbs of it!). Gotta train 'em, first, they're both only 1 year old. I'm going to be building a sled this year.
