1988 elite runs too rich and cannot adjust
My 1988 elite will only run a short time without having to clean the plug that is slightly oily but not visibly wet. I have tried starting the air screw adjustment at the 1 3/4 position and gone out from there. When I get out far enough I see dark fuel bubbling from air screw. I have recently replac...

Re: Problem with plug fouling
Well I checked air filter, exhaust path, replaced carb, and plug still fouled after startup, and was wet. So I changed to a new plug and it ran great. Noticed that previous plug had larger gap, so cleaned and re-gapped to .65mm. Old plug runs fine and is not wet. Never would guess that the plug gap ...

Problem with plug fouling
What adjustments should I check for a fouling plug on 1988 elite 50? Have adjusted air screw per manual, but will only run a short time before stalling. Plug is new but wet each time I check it. Thanks.

Re: Can't start 88 elite...wet plug
Thanks for the input regarding the NGK plugs. Took out the Autolite, put in new NGK with .028 gap and it started on first manual crank. My Dad used to say to always check something simple when there is a problem.....good advice.

Ignition coil resistance question
Have trouble with spark on 88 elite 50. Checked resistance across ignition coil and the reading was .4 ohms versus the manual's range of .1-.2ohms. Trying to determine if my coil is ok.
