so it seems like my bystarter had an extra spring in it or something...that short one in my picture is nowhere to be seen in that step-by-step guide provided in this thread so i didn't *fully* disassemble then reassemble it, since it just seemed only the lowest two parts came out, and the spree ran....

i sloppily plunked it together and it ran before, but could it have anything to do with the carb leaking?

i mean the black cable i'm holding-look in the carb, you can see the spring and needle that would otherwise be inside of the cable

right, but i don't even know if that's the problem now that i've found the rubber in the lining of the carb is there a piece that presses between the float and carb, or just the one that fits in to the carb directly? im probably describing this horribly, i'll get pictures to demonstrate what i mean ...

im not seeing how i'd get the circle rim of a condom to fit over the weird shape of the carb :/

i would like to know why my spree is being a little b**** and crying tears of gas constantly though

so i went and installed the cardboard piece, and i think the gas leaking problem is even worse now

i think i'll go ahead and remove it, but i don't know where to go from there :(

well crap, i figured i didn't have a gasket because there was a rim of gas between the carb and the float, but upon opening it there is a rubber something-or-other attached in the lining of the carb

* is going on

im considering just wedging the cereal cutout between the float and carb anyway

$9 for the whole carb gasket set on the OEM sites, + $8 shipping for a total of $17, which is ridiculous

i'd like it to be closer to the range of $0

i was half-contemplating laying down a few strips of thread seal tape >.>

i might go and cut a gasket out of a cereal box, hmm
