i had a very similar problem, i took off the body panels and saw that my air filter had popped open. take off the body panels (takes roughly 3 minutes), and make sure all the clips on the air filter are all the way down. if that doesn't fix it, you could also try cleaning the air filter (taking out ...

i think the petcock fixed itself. after i shot some compressed air through it yesterday, there was still a little gas pouring out, but now it's dry and still runs :D i'm still not positive about the idle adjustment, i thought the screw was supposed to be all the way in, but then the throttle is alwa...

so if it's running fine, would there be any concern with not having a strainer if that were the case?

could the gas flow be explained by anything other than a clogged/damaged fuel valve?

I'm possibly missing a fuel strainer (spree)

my spree isn't restricting gas flow to the carb. with the spree turned off, if i unplug the gas line from the carb, gas dumps out without restriction. i followed the instructions in the spree manual about blowing out the fuel valve with compressed air, which helped a little bit, but gas still came o...

Well, I didn't actually get around to trying any of the suggestions given, on account of my laziness, though I do appreciate them. A few days after I made this thread, I gave 'er a kick, and she purred. Apparently Sprees don't like starting in sub-zero weather, but the 60 degrees today was OK ;P New...

Dead '86 Spree - no suction

Right, so this is my first scooter, I bought it from a shady guy, and it had no torque originally. I figured it would be a simple enough repair, and took it in. After buying it, I bought a gas cap for it, cleaned the carb, and gave it an air element-but I'm not sure about the cable assembly, and I'm...
