Re: do you [Non-Scooter Projects]

87 Buick Grand National This winter it gets a front mount intercooler, a new wastegate, Better fans for the radiator, and hopefully poly motor mounts. Also have to fix a pesky oil leak and a noisy speedometer. I could buy an awful lot of nice scooters for the money that's been sunk into this car, an...

Re: is there a nc50 forum half as good as this one .

I think it's expresslyhonda.yuku.com and I went through a bunch of work to get registered over there only to find out there is almost no content. I have better luck here so I stay here. I'm collecting parts to restore a GREEN 78 express . This site needs an NC50 section.

Re: What's the dumbest/most embarrassing way to hurt yourself?

Aw *, they're safe enough for 25 mph. Truthfully they look pretty good yet, they have less than 1000 miles on them. :D I'd replace them but I don't want to kill the originality of the scooter.

And to think I'm one of the guys in support of new tires every 5 or 6 years on the turbo buick forums.

Re: What's the dumbest/most embarrassing way to hurt yourself?

Well I laid in bed last night thinking about the physics of a stoppie, things like weight transfer over a fulcrum point, brake modulation, etc. and decided that a true, moving stoppie like you see crotch rockets doing in rap videos and on youtube is just not possible with my scooter. I proved withou...

What's the dumbest/most embarrassing way to hurt yourself?

Answer: Screwing up your leg attempting a stoppie on a moped. Long story short(er) I just got the express legal for town so I had it out at lunch. Front brakes were kind of touchy so I joked that I could do a stoppie with it. Of course I was dared to attempt it by my friends, and you can't ba...

Re: JUNKYARDS... are the S***

That is exactly how I found my 78 express. 897 miles and they had the title. Someone else pulled it for me though. Some people will throw away anything that doesn't fire right up.

I haven't attempted the plastic yet. The fiberglass headlight bucket and the frame parts clean up like new. Been watching ebay, may buy different plastic fenders as mine have some small cracks anyway. I could live without 3 or 4 of the front baskets for the original honda express and the flat one in...

Awwww C'mon. Nobody here can help? Hate to throw NOS parts in the iron pile becasue I don't know what they are. Those baskets with the looped top edges are headed there soon If I can't ID them. On a lighter note, my express (kermit) is coming along nicely. SHE RUNS!!! All I have to do is get it regi...

Need help with basket identification

I scored a whole bunch of baskets this weeekend, and I'm not talking about basketball. :D While searching for a nice basket for the front of my express, I came across a craigslist ad for a whole pile of NEW express baskets for $10. They were 100 miles away and he wouldn't ship, so I decided to road ...

I will try it if I ever get a chance to work on it. My 78 express is almost done and it will be hard to find time to tinker with this one. REALLY want the elite going so I can take advantage of the variator, but just don't know at this point. I have 1 1/2 sprees and 3/4 of an elite here so I need to...

Too old to have blinker option, is it legal?

My 78 express came from the factory without blinkers mounted on it. Is it "grandfathered" into being legal to ride without them, much like cars that never had seatbelts? I wis it had them for safety reasons but I don't think my small town justifies the effort to add them.

Thanks for the info. As soon as I get it back in my possession I will try sanding the faded color off the top and let you know how it goes. I don't have any deep scratches to speak of so that helps, but I don't know how deep i'll have to sand to bring back the color. Got a NOS taillight lens off eba...

I should add that the reason it is such low miles is that it spent lots of time not running in the corner of someones garage. So right now it's kinda dirty and neglected looking, and needs a seat cover. But it's not scratched up or bent/broken/beat up at all. A little polishing and some good tune up...
