Restoring original color to plastic?

What can be done with plastics that are molded in color that have faded over the years? Can they be wet sanded and buffed like automotive lenses? I am in process of acquiring a REALLY cherry 78 honda express, in LIME GREEN BABY!!!! 8) with 800 actual miles on it. The paint will clean up nice but the...

Thanks for the info. What would be the best source for a side kickstand? Probably couldn't use a bicycle one, maybe another scooter used one? lso he didn't really say wat wires had to be spliced but I'm sure I can figure it out. This looks like the way to go for me.

Will an 88 sb50 fit an 85 spree?

If you read my new guy post you'll already know that I just got into these things and have a pile of stuff to work with. My 88 elite runs real good but I have no title and it's cosmetically trashed. The spree I have is cosmetically good but hasn't ran in forever (18 years to be exact). What kind of ...

So will the sb50 motor assembly swap into the spree with little mods? I'm thinking the spree would be good for the wife. I'll take the express. Thanks for the info thus far. I always said that there's a web forum out there for any given topic. Never thought i'd find one for old honda moped...

OK finally got the pics right. Why can't you guys host them yourselves like the buick sites? Just kidding. Photobucket takes forever though. Just saw your post. All I know is, that elite is ROUGH. Can I make the spree plastic fit on it? doubt it. Name of the game here is CHEAP. If I can screw ...

Also what the * is an "iowa" spree? Because that's what the complete one is, and from the little i've read here it seems that they have terrible performance. Maybe I should fit the sb50 motor on the completed spree? It surely runs the best right now. Picture trial:

Picked up the spree today, actually 1 1/2 of them. Digging through the paperwork, it turns out that dad bought them both not running in 1991, and the one scooter he has title paperwork for is basically a bare 87 frame. The complete one is an 85, and with about 1/2 hour of tinkering, we had it runnin...

just another new guy post

Just thought I'd introduce myself. I've been looking for a cheap scooter and just picked up an 88 elite sb50 dirt cheap. It runs but needs tons of cosmetic/tuning work. I also have a lead on a spree from the mid/late 80s that has been in a shed not running since the early 90's. I will go pick it up ...
