Re: 84 spree doesnt get fuel after it sits.
That is a good idea. I told him he needs to sta-bil the fuel. When I finally converted it to manual petcock, it had been 1 1/2 years since I sold it to him, and I think it still had my tank of gas in it. Poor thing, we put 200 miles on it over the summer I had it.

Re: 84 spree doesnt get fuel after it sits.
UPDATE: The petcock threads are the same as a honda express. Using a straight petcock works but is kind of a tight fit. I replaced the automatic one with a manual valve, they sell them on ebay with a right angle nipple and it fits perfectly, except you need to remove the fuel screen and throw it ove...

84 spree doesnt get fuel after it sits.
So I sold this really nice 84 spree to a local guy and it has an issue. He lets it sit around forever and wants to basically run it once or twice a year with his kids/grandkids, and the fuel is apparently evaporating/seeping out of the float bowl. When this happens the motor doesn't make enough vacu...

Re: Honda 4 wheeler site?
Nobody will believe me but I'll say it anyway. The first time I googled it I went to page 3 and never found anything more than generic off road/mudding sites. Then after bear's incredibly helpful post I reworded the google search and found a honda ATV forum on page 2. So thanks for the motivation, I...

Re: your most rare part
I had a random craigslist guy GIVE me 7 NOS front baskets and 2 NOS rear basket sets for a honda express. I was looking for one decent one to use. Been selling them on ebay. "bout 100 each so far plus ship. He also gave me an NOS one that fits I think an express II or urban express. Gonna list ...

Re: Newbie with NQ50 help pleas
Clean out the carb. The float bowl is probably full of trash. Just do it. Or have it done.
OR my offer would still stand if you could get it to the midwest. LOL. Mine's gettin' shinier by the day.

Re: Is it possible to put a variator on a Spree?
Even if it can be done using stock spree engine (which it probably can't), it would be far less work and greater reward to swap in a variated engine setup, out of an elite. As the saying goes, "Dude, swap in a DIO!" .

Re: 40 MPH Spree
84 model year sprees read 10 20 30 40, according to the sticky in the tech section. My 84 also has this speedometer. Mine's an early build 84, like number 5000 or so (according to vin).

Re: 86 spree Center stand doesn't reach the ground
If the stand itself isn't bent, look under the scooter for the little square bar that runs side to side, that the stand hits when it over centers. This could be bent or gone completely. Mine was bent and when I tried to pry it straight it broke off. SO I straightened it in a vise and had the local w...

"Come on and take a Spree ride". I like it 8). yeah yeah yeah yeah Jefferson Airplane :thumbwink: Ummm. More like Edgar Winter Group. :b2t: My brother got my stock 84 to 37 ON THE SPREEDOMETER (and I'm sure it's wrong). This was a 3000 mile scoot that just got pulled out of a shed and got...

84 spree battery retrofit
Can I cram a newer sealed battery in an 84 spree without major hacking? Looking at one that fits the newer spree/sb50 elites, etc. Interstate number FAYTX4L or something like that. Will it charge the sealed battery or am I just better off overall to get a conventional one? Measurements they give for...

Re: Newbie with NQ50 help pleas
Well I guess I can chime in here with what I can help with. The valve on the bottom of the gas tank (petcock): This is a vacuum operated check valve. Instead of the old days (like my 78 express) where you turn off the valve manually, this one is automatic. It uses vacuum from a port on the carb to o...
