if you know how to port a cylinder that and mill the head a little to increase compression.you can also put a taller tire for a longer roll out so its like dropping a gear size in the back.I think tire size is 2.50x10 on the elite e so go to a 3.00x10 in the rear.should give you about 2-3mph on top.

stock rollers are about the same.you either need to go down in weight on the rollers or get a stiffer compression spring.(big spring in the back by the clutch).

you can find bore kits for those jogs.They are called duck bill jogs.the bore kits are for the 89-01 zuma and also look under yamaha bws.They also have pipes too.lots of stuff for that engine.I got one too its a late 86 in factory yellow.not many was sold in that color.

the stock clutch springs are so the bike is not so violent on the take off from the factory.If you change the clutch shoe springs,you will need to get a stiffer center spring(contra,compression).as for your setup now your rollers are to heavy.The bike it feels like your taking off in second gear rig...

check the plug and filter.You might have to clean the filter and carb.also ckeck the rollers and belt.

The hard start sounds like your electric choke is bad.check the connection.as for the black drip,are you sure it came out of the trans cover and not from the top of it?

The base on the intake manifold it curved on the 87 and straight on the dio.you can use the dio manifold on the 87 but not the 87 1 on the dio.the 87 manifold is better than the dio because the opening is just a little bigger and its shorter to the reed block.

How consistant is the spark when you checked it?also 80 psi sound low. but should at lease fire up.
