Re: Fabrizi 50mm Squish
I recommend running race gas in it then. With a tighter squish and higher rev rpm, less chance of engine knock and running hot without having to run a rich jetting to keep it cool. The closer you get the jetting to optimum air/fuel ratio on these motors, the more crisp throttle response you will get...

Re: Fabrizi 50mm Squish
Even though the port timing isn't near 190 doesn't mean it's not for racing. Some companies design their cylinders with lower port timings due to the type of race tracks it's used on. Most of the tracks are kart style tracks so midrange power is what's needed. A 10.5-11.5k peak rpm is good enough.

Re: Fabrizi 50mm Squish
Keep in mind that the recommendation from fabrizi on squish clearance is for racing purposes and intended to be run with race gas. Not pump gas. Yes tighter squish more power but higher friction which means higher heat which causes detonation quicker with lower octane fuel. KABOOM!

Do a plug chop to confirm rich condition. What are you using to check engine temps?

Re: Operation 100mph dio
Shoot for 14.5k-15k. Gonna have to make a pipe that will make power that high up. At least to 14k.

Re: 87 disc brake conversion
http://hondaspree.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=10568 You can see the leg shield has a bigger bubble. After you get the triple tree in, put the shield in place and mark where the tree rubs. I heated both sides of the plastic and used broom stick end cut off and used the round side to push the ...

Re: 87 disc brake conversion
Actually the live dio zx frontend is plug and play on a 87 elite. You can either cut the leg shield to clearance the triple or you can use a heat gun and mold the plastic so the triple can clear the plastic. As for cutting metal, none needed. I built 3 87 elites with live dio frontend and love them....

Re: whats the highest temperature on Malossi MHR BBK?
450 is melting point for aluminum. If it's a hypereutectic piston, heat can go higher due to more silica in the aluminum to take the heat and not expand as much. I would shoot for 380-390f peak cht at wot. If your in the 400+ you risk seizing. Especially if your pilot is not set correct for throttle...

Sounds really rich. If your using pump gas, drop the compression if it's over 135psi. If not KABOOM!

Re: Disc possibilities on oem forks
No it will bind up or hit the caliper if it's a elite s style front fork. If it's telescopic fork then you can probably get it to work. Just upgrade the brake shoes to ebc or any aftermarket racing brake shoes or just do a full disc swap front end. Enless the person welding the bracket is a very ski...
